hmmm one of my coworkers somehow jumped from writing like three posts on his blog to freelance science journalism in my town and I legitimately don't know how hmmm it can't be this easy...can it? Just....tell a magazine you'll do science writing?
Had the first real session of my new D&D group tonight. It was nice to roll dice in person.
Party is a decent mix:
1.Human Artificer aka the magic cop
2.Dwarf Paladin who is me. I am the tank. Also the character is starting to turn a little odd. But since he worships the god of the sea who is considered weird anyway it makes sense.
3.Warlock with a pact with an old one. Quiet and wears rags.
4.High Elf Monk from the military elf country.
5.Blade Singer/Elf Wizard who is really into himself thinks he is a bard
We did the party get together quickly. Mostly the magic cop has a job and is paying. The warlock needs money, the monk is curious about how others fight, the blade singer thinks its an old fashioned quest, and I am a merc so the pay is good.
We did some investigating and tracking. Then fought exploding not really but kind of ancient elf zombies. We got a nice set of crits actually. I hit the one near me for way more than his life. They said describe it and I did and then the zombie exploded into my mouth by me rolling a 1 on my dex save. Being a dwarf I got to advantage on the poison save though so I was fine.
Just having in person RPing though is so nice. Something about rolling physical dice that is so satisfying.
