Tidus is an example of where the creators are wrong, just like the GIF guy.
It's Tie-dus. I don't care what the character's VA or the devs or whatever say. Tie-dus sounds like tide which fits with the water theme and also tee-dus sounds dumb af.
It's almost like it's a Japanese game and thus has a different pronunciation

I know that you understand the localization process about as well as anyone, so I'm not going to say you're wrong. But as someone who's been doing localization for over 15 years (good lord), I firmly believe they made the Wrong Choice keeping his original Japanese pronunciation. Tie-dus is just such the obviously better way to pronounce it in English, it boggles the mind they insisted on keeping it as is.

A trap is for fish: when you've got the fish, you can forget the trap. A snare is for rabbits: when you've got the rabbit, you can forget the snare. Words are for meaning: when you've got the meaning, you can forget the words.

It's important to remember the era and culture at Square in that moment
This was them incredibly on their high horses, Spirits Within-ass company
This is the moment when they put their foot down and call her Aerith
Whether or not it is the right call, it's absolutely the one they were going to make based on hoe things were at the time

Jules always gets between 41 and 44 reps. 41 being really rare.
I could never get more than 44 on a no fall run, and he wins on a tie.

Felt good being able to beat leviathan on my second try. Got one shot during my first attempt, retooled my build. Specifically, set up Barrett with barrier+magnify for manaward in order to survive tidal wave. Also put a gun on him so I could essentially chain pray as needed.
I always thought that Tifa wore shorts instead of a skirt but apparently I was wrong
She had shorts UNDER the skirt, I think?
advent children (also kingdom hearts) Tifa has like shorts with a sorta partial skirt-ish thing over it, but OG ff7 was always a very short skirt and overly long legs. Though she does have some sort of like safety shorts on underneath.
The remake design is pretty dang close to the original character art, really:
They replaced some elements like the very '90s belt and the oversized armguard thing, and did minor changes to stuff like her shoes and suspenders and stuff, but it's pretty close.

It’s meant to be pronounced “Tee-dus”, because it’s derived from “tiida”, an Okinawan word for Sun. This fits with Yuna, whose name is Okinawan for “night”.
This is probably why Tidus’s necessary items for his best weapon are the Sun Crest and Sun Sigil.

Ypu're most definitely not wrong about the why he's called Tee-dus.
It's the principle that it sounds stupid and looks wrong with the spelling.
I guess there’s an argument his whole name should have been translated, then taken from an old Western language, becoming Helius or Soldus, but while his name is the same in the original language the game was made in its fine that its Ti’dus.

It was a bad hour.
Therefore the good pronunciation has been canonized

Her whole outfit is ridiculous.
Also no one’s going to call out the names from FFT?

Everyone's outfits are ridiculous
Cloud has a turtleneck tanktop, three belts, and Jncos tucked into sailor's boots
and what looks like part of an old sea mine socketed to his shoulder
Barret has FIVE belts, a vest which seems to have its own neck belt (???), and boots that buckle at the ankle

Ooooh wow

Listen I don’t know what you’re talking about.
I own several single shoulder pads with bolts and screws in them and they are totes normal.
Frankly over the course of 20 minutes motivation went from "want item" to "want cheevo" to "fuck you game ima gonna win"
