And obviously that's not getting into the unpaid/just-having-fun stuff on Twitch from Dakota, Breeze, Joe, Cesaro, Styles, and Xavier's non-UUDD-Youtube twitch
edit: Fightful says part of this move was made due to talent revealing "sensitive info" on Cameo and Twitch, which comes like days after Styles said on Twitch he tested positive for corona last month
I had a brief moment where I was surprised, because its such a shittily petty thing to do. And then I remembered that back in the 80s Vince McMahon had a fucking fit and torpedo'd Sgt. Slaughter's WWE career for a long ass time because he got a toy deal with GI Joe.

IIRC the GI Joe thing was part of it but he was also Slaughter being upset about his contract and being pushed down the card for Hogan so he jumped at the chance to main event in the AWA.
Only Vince would look at his talent reaching out and finding new avenues to draw audiences to his product and go, "Wait but at the same time they make money that doesn't come out of my pocket?!? HRRGGLLGRRBLL!!! SHUT IT DOWN!!!"

Watching the first of BJW's final Yokohama shows. Opening tags have been fun, especially seeing how wrestlers changed up their usual entrances to fit health guidelines. Notably, Jiro Kuroshio had to be held back by security multiple times when trying to dance in the crowd. And the Brahman Brothers, who would normally be throwing and spitting suspicious liquid on the audience, entered wearing face masks while spraying down the entrance way and dishing out hand sanitizer.
There was also a beautiful memorial video to the arena that opened the show, I will post it if I can find it.
This is just part of it, but I'm willing to say Heyman and Roman's opening segment on Smackdown was the best promo any American company has done this year, and Roman's entire booking this episode was masterful in selling his new heel character.

If this is the first 15 minutes of smackdown from Friday night, you could literally not hear ANYTHING over the video game sample crowd noise. I "think" the commentary were saying things during the opening, because I could hear the faint whisper of words beneath the roaring crowd, but I can't be sure. The audio mix was the worst. I actually miss the silent empty arenas.
We could not hear what ever they were saying, didn't care for it, wanted wrestling, so we changed the channel to watch the NHL playoffs.
Apparently as long as they don't use their WWE names they can continue? So I guess they just changed their Account names for Twitch and Cameo and are now in the clear?

Former presidential candidate Andrew Yang went off on a rant about Vince's latest dumb move (and also kind of put himself out there for Biden's secretary of labor). I hope he gets the opportunity to follow through.

It's something that has a direct and immediately observable effect on these folks' money. I'm not surprised that this is the one of WWE's "penny wise, pound foolish" moves that really pisses their workers off.
Hey just a heads up but "circle the wagons" is a pretty fraught phrase that is shitty in a lot of ways.
It's good that people are raising a stink about all this as they should but I worry that if it's true "just your wwe name" isn't allowed it will peter out.

New conspiracy theory: assuming it really is just the WWE name use they're cracking down on, WWE leaked the inaccurate report themselves so that when the truth broke it would appear much more reasonable by comparison.

WWE has already filed a retroactive lawsuit against the alleged "parents" of their superstars for inappropriate use of their trademark.
Good job yelling at Tony, everyone!
Sasha and Alexa charge double what he did
Reigns obviously is a major figure on Cameo too

Can you trademark people's legal names? And if so, can other people besides the person who actually has the name trademark it?
Ah yes, the Quack approach.
Probably won't, it's an offically produced/sponsored WWE thing.

Unfortunately labour laws in the US are so utterly horrific that it's not nearly this simple.

Perhaps not the best source of advice on this issue?
Does Mick have a Legacy contract or whatever?
If you're not getting it, note the arrangement and capitalization.
I did in fact miss that. Mostly because I was just catching up on my feed and not paying attention.
I totally missed it too until I read a reply that pointed it out and then I was like, "Oh!"

Edited, thanks.
PWInsider says ProWrestlingTees is specifically one of the other "outside third parties" they're targeting with this, in addition to Twitch and Cameo
