I've been binging the series 3-4 times since I picked up Season 2 through Xbox Movies and TV. Because of all the re-watchings, I've been finding myself talking in Bane voice whenever I'm on voice chat in Discord. Usually brings people to tears who're familiar with the show.

They're going to really explore Harley and Ivy's relationship. They've both had toxic relationships in the past, and this is the first time Ivy's been an equal in a relationship.
Also, the only three people the creators promise they won't kill are Harley, Ivy, and... Bane.
Also also, he won't be a spoiler in Harley and Ivy's relationship, but Kite Man will return. Hell yeah.
I stopped when I heard that it was ended abruptly without conclusion because of the pandemic, and if it was an unsatisfying end, AND the show was cancelled? I would be fucking furious.
Shows that end on a cliffhanger, or just aren't given time to wrap things up, make me irrationally angry.

To be fair, this time it wasn't a shitty corporate decision.

It....wasn't a cliffhanger ending, though. Personally, I thought the end of Season 2 was beautiful. Maybe it was a little rushed, but certainly not an abrupt cliffhanger.

That was more about the concept in general*. I remember reading here that it wasn't complete. Having that be the end would have pissed me off, so I stopped watching instead.
* if Impulse doesn't renew, that'll be the new standard in fuckery. Six different narratives, five end on cliffhangers, or close enough to.
Alright fine, I'm in. I'm watching Harley Quinn. This thread has done it.
As I think has been pretty well established, the first episode is pretty try-hard, like it's very eager to show you how free the show is to swear and show blood. I think I really enjoy what I can see through that, though. And yeah, a very Venture Bros. vibe in places, particularly with Gordon.

If we can just get the Timmverse* on HBO Max, I’d be pretty content
I’m wondering, with everything new going to HBO Max, if all of DCU’s video content is going to Max as well
Hurry up, I wanna show my kid BTAS!
Having easy access to BTAS is why I have...
Having them look good is why I have...
So glad I scooped up the blu-rays when they were last on sale.
The original covers win, as with most dvd/bluray upgrades.

Picked up Harley Quinn Emancipation, etc. from the library, watched last night.
I wished I had a better way to describe my thoughts, but I didn't not like it. Certainly a little biased against it but heard some positive comments here so gave it a shot (for free). Just too disorganized? Felt unearned? Just did not enjoy it. Huntress and Black Siren were good.
Maybe would have been better as an R? Wow, it was an R. Seems like a waste then? I mean I guess it should have been obvious ring the swearing but the bloodless violence fooled me.

Yeah, the movie should have leaned into the R and had a couple less Birds of Prey. I mean, I totally understand why they stuffed so many birds in there -- who else is going to put those characters on the big screen? But the end result was scattershot and didn't really do justice to anyone other than Harley. And holy crap, it needed more Huntress.

That was my thought too. Really show the crazy & smart sides of Harley showing off all she could do now that's she's done with Joker.
I mean I guess I just wanted a live action version of the HQ cartoon done in the 'realistic' Nolan style.
But then people would just complain that the director & producer were copying Nolan, can't stand on their own, etc.

lol there was a Smallville reunion last night that was notable for a few things:
- Everyone loved working with each other but kinda thought the show sucked (I’ve seen the entire series, it does)
- Tom Welling never wore pants unless the scene required it, just sandals and gym shorts
- Allison Mack, despite being in almost all of the 217 episodes, was not mentioned (for obvious reasons)
- Laura Vandervoort thought her wardrobe was sexist trash and burned it when the show ended
Glad to see the cast was having the same thoughts about the show the rest of us were
I do enjoy that those who dislike Smallville assume everyone shares that opinion. :?
The show has a ton of fans, people clearly liked it, but you can like something and still acknowledge a perceived lack of quality. Or not as the case may be, beauty is in the eye of that dnd monster

So what's the deal with Wonder Woman 1984? Is it coming out on streaming or are they still holding to a theatrical release first?
edit: a friend said they'd be coming out with it streaming which would be one hell of a change for a tentpole movie.

Last I heard it was still tentatively pencilled in for December but I wouldn't put money on that sticking, it's probably best to just call it quits and go for July next year now.

Disagree. You just need to see in six dimensions to understand their artistic capability. My house was decorated by a terrasque. To most people, it's a jumbled junky mess. To a terrasque, it's quite well furnished.
Regarding Smallville, I liked it enough for the first part, though I did just fade out on it in the later seasons. I remember seeing Kruek's last episode (at least as main cast, dunno if she guested after), and they just started Clark as a feature in Metropolis with Lois. Always meant to go back, but didn't.
One thing I did note, was Tom Welling went "up and coming young guy" to "post middle aged" faster than I'd imagine. Was watching Lucifer when he did his stint there (as a different character), and I saw his name in the opening credits. It wasn't until half way through the episode before I realized he was the character I was watching for the past 20 minutes. Brain wouldn't accept he was the same person I'd watched in Smallville.
