I could just be posting in here all night but I'll just leave this one from October 1999, probably one of my favorite prog rock albums and an amazing concept album

I have straight up not though about Dream Theater for at least fifteen years but holy shit this album
I think it's probably their best album and while stuff after it has been good to excellent, they've never quite reached that zenith again.
I basically stopped listening to their stuff after Portnoy left, it just wasn't the same
Yeah, that sounds about right. I have the two albums after Black Clouds & Silver Linings, but I honestly couldn't name a single track on them if I tried.
One of the saddest music stories I've heard is Dolores O'Riordan was set to meet with a metal band to record a new modern cover of Zombie, and she fuckin' died the day before the recording. That was almost 3 years ago now =(
It was the multi fold event over a few weeks back in early 92 of Z rock ,a AM station that played metal you could get various states\was replaced with a Christian country format, how music was changing with no clear path and I finding the local college station that played music from the undercurrent {alternative music is a tent like ideal} music became for me a ever long quest with no end

I've probably told this story before, but I was on the Farm Business Management team in FFA. Inexplicably, this was a big deal at the state contest, right up there with livestock judging. The FBM team would ride down to Las Cruces in a van with the ag teacher instead of on the big yellow bus, and he would quiz us on questions about equipment depreciation and projected cash flows. And if we did bad, he'd play old Elvis albums. And if we did good, he'd play contemporary country music stations on the radio.
So that's why one of my fondest memories is of this grizzled old bolo-tie wearing Charles Bronson looking motherfucker cruising through Albuquerque in a big blue Baptistmobile cheerily singing along to Man! I Feel Like a Woman. Because I know my shit when it comes to commodity put options.

One of you is absolutely correct.
when I saw them, a big circle opened up in the crowd .... to expose a wedding party, bride, groom, and officiant!
They sang them a love song that I was unfamiliar with but it was awesome

I give you the best song of the 90s
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5NZsCYOM4j0
But when I think to earlier 90s stuff, most of what I listened to was Primus, The Deftones, Rage Against the Machine and Monster Magnet.
I basically stopped listening to their stuff after Portnoy left, it just wasn't the same
this isn't 'Bitch' by Maredith Brooks!
So, I obviously love The Cranberries.
And a year ago I learned that by best friend doesn't.
We were driving home from D&D and Zombies came on and he started asking if Dolores O'Riordan actually knew how to sing.
AND I WAS FURIOUS.
I'M STILL FURIOUS.

I still have my tickets to rage against the machine
I am madder than I have ever been at someone I will never meet.

Man I'm still really partial to Rusty Cage and Holy Water. Though I'm in the camp that Soundgarden did basically no wrongs, so there's some bias.
'Them Bones' should have been a huge hit imo
