It's kind of sad how useless the Boast mechanic has been, I think it gets even less play than Party cards.
I've enjoyed it quite a lot in limited. Duskwielder, Goldmaw, Tuskeri Firewalker, the token generating one, Fearless Pup, all stuff I've used a lot (in my decidedly mediocre runs).
I wanna try Eradicator Valkyrie in constructed, largely because I think the art is sick as heck.

What makes me the saddest about this new set looking so cool with the houses and everything is that it makes me really want to be able to play as a house against other people playing as a house.
But in practice that will never actually happen and all this cool house stuff will mean absolutely nothing in the actual game.
it would be SO FRIGGIN COOL though if that weren't the case.

This deck is feeling very fun so far:
The strategy is simple: you play a big troll and hit them in the face with it, and then once they kill it you flicker out the enchantment and continue hitting them in the face with the big troll as if nothing happened.
Bonuses: flicker lets you move auras around, re-start Elspeth Saves the Day, trigger constellation stuff, omg so good, best card.

Okay, like this game:
Opponent opens with Kargan Intimidator in response to my Nessian Wanderer. It gets Banishing Light'd.
Opponent plays Koll followed by Winota. Before Koll can attack, I Flicker out the Light, removing Winota.
Opponent plays Maul of the Skyclaves, attaching it to the Intimidator. After it attacks (so that it won't trigger Winota), I Flicker out the Light, returning Winota and removing the Maul.
Then I Doomskar, followed by Setessan Champion. They play a Bonecrusher, another Winota, and a Kenrith. All of these are dealt with by two Elspeth Saves the Day, the first of which gets Flickered out in response to the third ability, getting back my Wanderer and starting the saga over again at one.
I get a second Wanderer and start playing Runes of Sustenance; the Champion is getting huge and I have more lands than God and am drawing tons of cards. They kill the Champion with a Giant Killer just in time for the second Elspeth's third to bring it back.
It's so silly! If I could run 8 Flickers I definitely would.

Oh they had better!
Would be such a missed opportunity if they didn't.
But that will also just be a fun weekend to give us a taste of greatness only to vanish forever leaving us all hollow inside.
Oh look, the underworld breach deck has had 0 cards banned from it in the 3rd week of the historic shake up. Time to show people without any interaction that I can combo off faster than they can kill me. Got 2 quick turn 4 kills and my 2 rares for the week.

You can also flicker cards with cheaper flip sides and they will come back as the more expensive unflipped side, or target your opponent's expensive flipped cards to make them have the cheaper/worse unflipped side.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.

I ran into a deck the other day using flicker on the skald saga to draw a bunch of cards and buff things.
Seemed pretty good.
It was in a storm-ish deck with a bunch of buffing cantrips and the haste treasure-dragon dragon.

I really like this. Doomskar in a creature deck seems weird but it works really well.
Calix is one of those cards that I've always wanted to play, but never wanted to craft. He's got a very solid set of abilities/costs/loyalty, but he just never found his way into a deck. The worst part about Eldraine rotating and lowering the power level of standard is that we lose all the sweet Theros and Ikoria cards that we never got to use.
Currently playing Grixis midrange/control, which is always my favorite archetype. 6-0 with it tonight against a decent range of control and midrange, not much aggro. Had to switch off from wBR due to its complete inability to deal with cycling, which keeps popping up.
Basically you play Bonecrusher or Borrower, kill whatever gets in front of it, and counter whatever tries to target it. Goldspan, Shark Typhoon, and Valki are all backup wincons. Worst possible matchup is against control when you draw nothing but removal, but that doesn't happen too frequently due only running six direct removal pieces.
Can't wait for more Strixhaven spoilers, even though I'm completely uninterested in the theme. Hoping for some good spells and a cool UR dragon.

I don't know that it's Good Enough but getting the opponent to drop a bunch of blockers for the troll only to wipe the board and have the troll pop right back out is very excellent. It feels like it can get on a good roll.

I got him as one of the FNM reward cards and stuck him in the deck, but I dunno how well he fits. Gonna keep trying for a bit tho because I think my opinion is being colored by whiffing most of the time on his +1.

I love this deck. Played it in the Historic shakeup and won both games; guess what Flicker does to 0/0 hydras and angel tokens!
Things were going amazingly well until they slapped Light of Promise onto a creature followed by equipping it with lifelinky spear, leading to it doubling in power every turn. They Faith's Fetters'd my Champion. I try to Elspeth away the 25/25 lifelink trampler only to realize... it has a CMC of 2. I hit the Light of Promise. They play another one. I draw a third land to join the two in my hand. Things were looking grim.
I chump with the troll to trigger the card draw on Champion. I get Bala Ged Recovery. Recovery into Banishing Light sets off a massive chain over the next two turns where I go from having a nearly empty board to... what you see here. They try to set up the combo twice more, but at this point I have enough enchantments that the Champion ensures that I always have an answer.
I really want the historic brawl cards but woof, not having any luck trying to grind with the deck I was able to put together.
What is this I don't even.

I ended up slamming it out with determination. I spent a couple rare wilds I really shouldn't have to make myself feel better about the deck. Ohhhh well.. I like the cards I crafted at least.
What is this I don't even.

Ladies and gentlemen I present you
The worst play I have ever seen in MTG history
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
Woo! Finally made it to diamond, three days before season end. Thanks Mono Blue Tempo. Highlights of the morning were:
Coming back from sitting missing 5 land drops in 8 turns, then resolving three Graven Lores because my opponent didn't realize that Yorion can attack.
Clowned a UR cycling deck that should have destroyed me because I bounced his Improbable Alliance that he never recast. He eventually tapped out and attacked with the two faeries he had, and then I resolved three Alrund's Epiphany.
Resolved four Sea-Dasher Octopodes against Mono Green, and resolved four Unsubstantiates on four of my opponent's Lovestruck Beasts when they cast four Primal Mights. That was a weird one.

I am very firmly stuck in plat 4; I think I have an almost exactly 50% win rate.
The troll deck continues to be incredibly fun. It even managed to beat rogues once! But I've only seen like two rogue decks and a monored aggro deck all weekend, in terms of meta decks. Almost every single game has been against some weird concoction, which is totally fine except for when I lose to mutate because I have no idea how it works.

3/4 flash body is still really good.
UW flash/control is at 91% now in Mythic, having climbed from 79.
Lurrus disenchantment was sitting at about that last season.
Have ditched Vega, the Watcher because it came online too slowly, and was not flash. Added more counters because 1/4 of deck is not enough, but also two clocks to screw mill over.

God, I love historic brawl
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
Four toughness isn't a bad stat line, and the three cost is pretty tolerable. I wonder if it will be possible to run it as a value engine instead of a combo piece.
Combos with Purphoros? Have Purph out, Irencrag Feat, pop out Codie, tap him, cast your one spell.
Great commander too, let's you run any colors without needing you to any specific colors.

Yeah, well, in this case she's more of a goth dryad, really.
Ain't nobody respect Duskwielder and he's a one way ticket to Get There City.
I wanna try Eradicator Valkyrie in constructed, largely because I think the art is sick as heck.
Standard's in a good place right now, but Eldraine is going to hover over the format until it rotates.
Either gets removed or stacks your deck.
As someone said above, you'll have a much better chance once the strongest set since Urza's rotates.

Still gets run under by aggro curving out, and can't do a lot to things on board aside bounce.
But it snowballs well in the late game.
