Our D&D group is getting back together in person May 13th. We (And our immediate families) will have been fully vaccinated at that point. I can't wait. We're going to be starting Ryme of the Frost Maiden.

spoiler free advice for that campaign, do not dawdle

keep moving and don't actually try and do everything

Spoiler for the very beginning and character secrets
We picked out our character secret and I have the slaahd Embryo but my character is a drunk and working with the DM I'm going to have been infected while passed out. I'm going to play it like worsening pneumonia symptoms. I'm hoping in character I figure it out in time!

My mate is going to be running an online D&D session next week which I'm joining, should be fun and probably chaotic because we're all noobs. The one game I played before I gouged my own eye out for no reason out so I look forward to making many more terrible decisions.

But how did the game go?

Man I got the motorcycle bug again. Happens every spring.

I just keep putting it off because I never have an extra 3 or 4 grand laying around but boy howdy do I want one.

That's why they made debt right?

So, unfortunately, the used motorcycle market is pretty elevated right now in a similar way to like, used cars or such, and training classes are kinda tricky unless you're willing to buy your own riding gear, because the companies doing the classes are being (1000% justifiably) stingy about loaner gear liabilities

So the thing I'd recommend doing if you're actually bike curious is, make a savings line for it over the span of a few months to a year and do some homework on good starter kit (I am happy to send along recs)

Also get real good at riding a bicycle and reading the road that way, if you live in an area where that's viable, because doing that for years before ever buying a motorcycle has almost certainly saved me a few years of my life already

tl;dr - right now is a good time to treat it like a major tattoo, give it 6 months to a year

It's now the season for: is it allergies or something far worse?

For me that's the days between and including January 1st and December 31st.

Mom got her AZ shot yesterday! Fever and sore arm overnight, and a little anxiety for a few days after the pharmacy was an absolute shitshow (so hoping she doesn't get sick etc), but having both parents get their first shot is a relief

Now to just sit on the edge of my seat for the rest of this wave and hope my sister and I get the shot soon (and not the covid chaser)

Astrazeneca, it's the one the US hasn't approved (but has millions just sort of sitting around in Baltimore because ???)

It's a cornerstone of the UK and Aus vaccination programs and the major third option in Canada as well, until J&J finally shows up around May

The chaser was a pun joke because of the word shot and I would like not to get covid

I remember the AstraZeneca one being the vaccine Oxford made and was going to provide the recipe for free, up until Bill Gates Foundation stepped in and convinced them to sell it one of their invested pharma companies instead

There are quite a few saguaros around town that have been despined and are probably safe to hug. But I wouldn't recommend hugging a cholla under basically any circumstance.

Yeaaaaah, I saw that today and

    Oof

    That's no good

Did Aus diversify at all in their portfolio of vaccines, or go all in on AZ? I saw mention of Pfizer being approved for younger folks but...

Pfizer is approved and recommended, but at the moment our supply is coming out of Europe and despite ordering and paying it months ago the EU, turned around said, not for you! We have some, Viv has booked in to get it soon as a health worker. But no where near our initial orders.

My daughter had a cough in class today. No other symptoms, but got sent home in an abundance of caution.
Good news is that a rapid testing site had appointments, we got a pcr test done, and have a negative result. Since she didn't have a fever, she can go back to school tomorrow (have to be fever free for 24 hours even with a negative test).
Now she gets to take allergy medicine every morning, since that's what we're guessing it is. Although she didn't cough once she got home.
Husband gets his second Pfizer shot next week, so I'm glad she's ok. Such a crazy busy day.

If that's all there is my friends, then let's keep dancing

There is a big problem with over ordering. Australia has ordered something like a enough to inoculate the population three times.

But you know, we’ve only managed <5% of the population.

Real fine detail in the printing, I'm looking forward to getting the v2 deck (with a custom tuck case).

    The v2 has arrived.
    6nm58j1bvz85.png
    budd3hc6lfon.png

Back of the tuck has the owl also in black, top has the DT runes, sides has runes for health and prosperity. As for the card, the filled-in moon really anchors it well. I think the only thing I'm not entirely sold on is the outside star, it should probably just be the 5 inside the trees, but yeah, well chuffed with how this turned out.

Also already have a pink Sakura variation designed and considering getting one of those made, and a borderless deck with silver-gilded edges already made and on its way, for a fake hotel and casino. Fake casino cards are very popular in playing cards.

    *ahem*
    2i4hp1ro3flw.png

"Hafnia" being the latin name for Copenhagen. I do wonder how long the gilding on the edges will last, because right now my fingers look like Tinkerbell sneezed on them.

I don't understand the appeal of surfing in the bay area at all, cold-ass sewage water
but then again maybe the water being cold is what makes it cool

Yeah the actual bay is gross, though I do kayak in there a lot
But no, this was a stop on the way to go camping in the channel islands. Would have also surfed on the islands (where the water was noticeably warmer than where we stopped off, fwiw), but I was packing light and didn't want to deal with wet gear.

That said, the first thing we did there was go cave kayaking so I could have probably just worn that outfit swimming and changed nothing about the saturation. We got very wet, is what I'm saying
