When I think of an RPG system, honestly, the Genesis really isn't what comes to mind, and I love the system.

Shoot, the Sega CD had two of the finest RPGs ever, and... that was pretty much all it had as RPGs go.

They have good RPGs, but they're not what define the systems at all.

The Snes pretty much wins for Chrono Trigger/Earthbound/FF6

Guys! I don't think you're doing this system war thing right.

The Wii is the one trying to kill gaming and the PS3, lol.

    Move on!

Lol, you don't need to buy another controller for the SNES just to have a decent controller for playing fighting games with worse graphics than edition for the other console.

Did the 16 bit system wars thread get archived? That was genius.

The Genesis will not rise again.

Maybe somehow this will end up on Virtual Console... I don't see much point in what they are doing, otherwise.

There's only one reason why the Genesis is inferior to the SNES.

That #$((#)@* sound chip. It's so awful; how could you play a 40 hour+ RPG with that crap?

That's why the Sega CD was biggest technological turnaround in gaming history.

That and the abysmal colour palette. Oh god the dithering, my fucking eyes!

Listen, we all agree the genesis sucked except for Sonic and whatever that game was that I think was made by the Altered Beast people. I want to say Ristar.... not sure. All the attacks looked like Guile's sonic boom.

...anyway, let's get back on topic.

For every shitty sequel that Browny Brown...excretes out, Evermore becomes infinitely more appealing. It's the only game in the series that makes an attempt at copying the greatness of Secret of Mana.

Zero interest in the game in the OP, but to be fair, the art looks about the same as every other 16-bit JRPG to me. But maybe it's one of those things where you have to actually care about the genre to notice the differences.

When did graphics start mattering in an RPG?

Considering the Genesis has been dead for so long I would kind of expect them to be able to do totally awesome things with it if they have been working on making games for it.

It's basically homebrew, I doubt they have professional artists on the team. If they do...they need new ones.

With where this thread went (which I should have guessed, but oh well), I dunno what to add, but I do feel the need to comment on one thing.
This way they can go OMG NEW GAME FOR THE GENESIS!! and try to get money.

Considering the number of hours they're likely sinking into the project, it's ludicrous to think they're trying to trick people to make money.

Oh yeah, and the Genesis does what Nintendon't.
    I love my SNES anyway.

Well, for a Genesis game, I think it looks and sounds pretty good. The tile set is actually pretty nice and detailed, they just had to battle the small color palette of the Genesis.
