It is not possible to kill enemy dogs in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle; you can only scare them into a docile state with the whip or gunfire. If the player points a gun at a defeated dog and pulls the trigger, Indy will check his gun instead of firing.
In an interview with IGN, Creative Director Jens Andersson explained that Indiana Jones won't harm dogs because he's "a dog person," having taken his nickname from the family dog. https://t.co/MMUbjEdhmL
Honestly, more games should let me do this to human enemies
i would love to see this from enemies way more in games
Surprisingly, actually having a good time with Marvel Rivals. I shall enjoy it until people with +100h in the game push out all the casuals and it just becomes stomp after stomp like every other one of these.

this is something City of Heroes did that I've never seen in another MMO
If you attack enemies in the open-world that are like 8-10 levels or more below you, the other ones in the pack will book it (which certainly made hunting down escaped prisoners in Brickstown more annoying, but you take the good with the bad)
I've been playing Star Wars Outlaws, which is the first AAA game I've played since Elden Ring (which itself, I would say doesn't actually count as a AAA game in terms of gameplay) and before that...I don't even know.
Outlaws is beautiful, it's well acted, everything screams big budget and attention to detail, but there's just not that much game to it? Player actions are largely automated. I press a button and a bunch of stuff happens that I'm not really responsible for. Kay goes to climb something and in a single button or maybe that one button twice, she scampers from the ground to the ledge to the roof. Gunplay's special power is taking over and shooting the enemy for you.
I usually judge a game primarily by two things, how entertaining is it (how good the story is?) and how does it feel to play. Something like Hades is #1 in both as a comparison.
In Outlaws it feels more like a semi-interactive movie instead of a videogame. I've only got like six hours in it so far so I'm hoping I get more real gameplay, but it's a strange floaty gaming experience so far.

I wouldn’t quite go as far as to say it’s an interactive movie for me, but the gameplay definitely lacks depth. It’s fun to use nix and the knock out animations are fun, shooting is decent, so is space combat, but yeah you definitely won’t be experiencing a deep or complex combat or stealth system. It feels very much like they got the basics down and then moved on
It’s definitely more enjoyable for the trappings tho, if you’re in the mood for original trilogy vibes there’s nothing better to play, the sights and sounds are wonderful. and while tatooine is overused in Star Wars I don’t think there’s ever been a more fully realised rendition of it in a video game before than there is here, it’s something special for fans. Being able to visit all the famous sites of tatooine rendered wonderfully all in an open world hit me pretty hard in the nostalgia zone despite my cynicism
I also think it suffers from a problem a lot of open world games suffer from, which is that the narrative is enjoyable but by the time it really kicks in for a surprisingly satisfying ending you’ve kind of long ago exhausted any sense of newness from the gameplay. It happens in a lot of open world games, where even when they get the ending stretch right, you’re often on autopilot through the actual gameplay sequences. Still, even tho I’d say it’s not always in gear throughout the campaign, it definitely finds its sea legs and I was surprised by how much I ended up engaging with it by the end when I hadn’t always been gripped throughout
I also think it was weird that the second ice planet didn’t have an open region, felt like maybe there was some rushed or cut content there. It stood out as weird
Playing it and god damn what a nostalgia trip and you can switch between old and new graphics on a flick of a button. There's a compass (which you can turn off) and a map so you can checklist all the boxes.
Also this came out today, if you've missed my other various praising rants, this might you get interested in the series and why this is a Big Deal to us fans:
The free Update 2.2 for Cyberpunk 2077 is available now, bringing new features to the open-world action-adventure RPG, including fresh ways to customize your character and vehicles, enhanced Photo Mode, and the ability to explore Night City with Johnny Silverhand (played by Keanu Reeves) in the passenger seat. Check out the latest Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition trailer.
I wonder if you need to start a new game file for this? Hopefully not, because I paused my most recent playthrough at a great place to see some of the changes.
Right outside the No Tell Hotel, right before going to see Dex
I just updated and Johnny immediately started popping up in the car mid-quest, so I'd say you're good to go.

I will say this is absolutely worth watching, just for the "what might have been" alternate voice cast that was unearthed from a trove of audition tapes, it's wild.
I'm glad to see I'm not the only madman who goes and watches the intro at least once a year as well :P
Oh nooo I think I found a strategy that works too well in Mechabellum.
There are air and ground units. Most ground units can't hit air units, but air units are generally pretty weak and ground ones are very tanky. Mostly this means that keeping a relatively varied force works best, so you can hit everything but you're not over-committed.
But it turns out if you go for one of the air units early, and just keep on making it, it basically wins the game. It's not super tanky, but it can take three shots from things that get other air units in one. It's got bad range, but that doesn't matter so long as it arrives at the right part of the fight. It clears out swarms so that your other units can focus on the big stuff, and it does well against the big stuff.
I'm going to see how far I can ride this but it's the newest unit and I think maybe they didn't balance it quite right.
Playing some more Dragon's Dogma. Realized that by using pawns from Pooro and whoever else I'm friends with who are way higher level than me gives me an XP penalty, so I sent them back for now in favor of some more closely matched ones.
I think I should probably be exploring more. I'm still unsure in this world so I'm timid about going too far from town except for the handful of side quests that have taken me to a specific location. But I need to get some vocation ranks and find some better gear. I've been oddly gearless so far? I have to just buy better stuff from the guy in town when story quests expand his inventory. I don't think I've found almost anything in a chest in the world that was better than what I had on at the time.
Specific quest thoughts for Land of Opportunity (the quest everyone has probably heard about already for its unexpected consequences but which I'll spoil anyway for post game stuff)
it's the one where the rich guy wants you to evict a family of his tenants so he can sell their house. You can do so or essentially just buy the land from him and give it to them. But, as everyone now knows, evicting them is actually the better option because in the post-game, that part of town just falls into the abyss and if they've been evicted then they are of course still alive after this happens. But there's nothing at the time that would lead you to believe it's the better option. You can't find some clue or deduce it from what you know of the world. Just, surprise! If you helped this family in this way they die later. And like, I don't know what lesson that's supposed to impart. The kid says he thought Arisen were supposed to be champions of the people, and even your pawns will be like "hey that was a weird job for us to take." No moral though
I think sorcerer is boring and tedious and as soon as I get another rank to grab an augment I'm gonna switch back to strider or maybe give fighter a shot

I don't think Kijimi is particularly survivable outside the city and underground areas. It looks COLD.
Would be interesting to see this game collapsed down to only urban areas. Put it on Nar Shaddaa and/or Coruscant.
I do agree on the traversal, it's very on-rails. But on the other hand, I think it would be frustrating if it were more complicated or open.

Unfortunately, yesterday's Power Rangers: Rita's Rewind is rather mid, and definitely not worth the asking price if you look at game length or compare it to the much cheaper games in the same genre that are available (ie. Castle Crashers, Double Dragon Neon, Streets of Rage 4, TMNT: Shredder's Revenge, etc.).

CrisTales had a cool concept/gimmick but it wasn't used well and ended up falling really flat for me. Time travel requires a lot of content reproduction though, so without those shackles hopefully they'll be able to do much better this time around.

Yeah, I was very intrigued from the get go with Cris Tales, but camping tents out in the wilds being a consumable resource (for saving/healing if I remember right) was a mechanic I hated and a helpless fight right near the start was poorly telegraphed and lead to me wasting items, which was infuriating. Hopefully they've learnt some lessons since then

Nope, you just need to level it up to that point then do the correct finisher.

Alas the concord episode is in the second as yet unreleased set of episodes. The juice will have to wait.

I'd try it

Vampire reality show visual novel game.
Man, if only someone had thought of making a valorant without abilities before.
You could say its a counter to that valorant style. Some kind of strike against that kind of gameplay. A counterstrike, you could say.

immediately a great idea. By being on a vehicle that has to be moving to not fall over you keep the vibe but create a new dynamic
Gonna have to keep an eye on this one
