Gnome's right, I don't think we're going to get a WoW style council fight (4+) just because the group size and composition doesn't allow for it. If 24 mans still used six tanks it'd be doable. Thinking about an interrupt rotation in a 24 man makes my skin crawl though.
Add phases in 24-mans very frequently will do three adds that absolutely must be tanked far apart OR ELSE, but full multi-target fights are pretty uncommon. Do we count CLL/Dalriada's opening fights? There's a tagging in/out set of bosses in Delubrum too...
jeuno is the only raid that has multi target bosses, before it the only thing we had were the occasional double boss(o12, e6) and the 2 add fights(coil 4, a2)
I was fairly surprised that the BIG group content that was delubrum reginaedidn't really have one, since that was like 48 people if I remember right. Baldesion Arsenal maybe too. Haven't done either.
DR savage at least has that beginning part with the slimes which seemed cool. They've said that they want to do more large group content so we might get something eventually but I imagine that it'd still feel different than the chaos of WoW council fights. Most 'multi-boss' fights are bosses tagging out 1 for 1, or splitting the groups up beforehand and just having several different encounters taking place on individual platforms
I've grabbed Pictomancer and done one dungeon with it and I think it might be my new favorite caster
Getting the palettes set up is a little fiddly but once you get the feel for it it's a lot of fun. I like the different aesthetic of its spells and how mobile it can be, and it's always funny to pull out a giant cartoon hammer to bonk someone with
i'm largely a fan of it, i think it managed to actually feel a bit different in a way that a lot of new jobs wind up not landing. i'm honestly surprised at how rare i've seen the "load a spell with a long cast time/fire a spell" mechanics split up, it helps you feel like you're playing better if you learn fights. knowing that you don't need to rush to do a canvas because there's going to be a brief moment in 10 seconds where nothing's happening and you can't hit the boss, and so on.
it also reminds me, actually, of D&D style "memorize your spells before you cast them" wizardry, just translated into MMO mechanics. obviously you can't just get ONE cast in a fight like you do in a TTRPG encounter, but the concept of "prep before blast" is there
Madness/jealous. Still working on that one, about halfway there. Had terrible luck in bonus window today (No wipes, but I got basically nothing for bonus loot in 5 kills).
Oh, you know, nights and weekends over two months. I did have to take a full week off to go to Japan, though. Aside from that, just being very very patient with Party Finder over the span of 350-ish clears.
Ahh rip, static lead decides they don't want to continue into 7.2. At least I got a couple weeks to look for a new group this time instead of a couple days.
Next live letter is 6AM EST Friday, this is the one where we get to see the good stuff. I hope the next raid tier is proper insane.
It's really, really, really bad. Like, abysmally bad. It's BESM d20 levels of shit. It's basically just D&D5e with FFXIV rotations stapled on top and all that entails; as in, a Black Mage has to do a bunch of very specific actions in sequence, every time. If you want an FF style TTRPG, play Break! instead.

Please tell me if you take more than 15 real life seconds to perform all of those actions you lose your turn

Also, worth noting that the changes are not actually confirmed; just what people picked up on in the roughly one minute that they were showing off the first raid encounter on the new patch

I've mostly had a hard time figuring out the benefit of using Fire 2/4 versus alternating between 1 and waiting for Firestarter to go off.

for a TTRPG emulating more of a classic FF feel, Fabula Ultima is pretty good as well - although out-of-combat stuff is mostly just Blades in the Dark-esque clocks, so make of that what you will

Puppets Bunker has split groups but you get to dogpile whichever one dies the slowest. They all do the same things anyways though so...

I don’t think they count as alts, in this case.

The backstory kind of is, too.

There's like, an entire class that's just Tataru or Omnicrafter or Fishing mains.
