Chrono Trigger one of the most beautiful games of the SNES. The art was designed by fucking Toriyama. "Enhancing" it with anime-ish facial expressions would be a punch to the mouth. I have full faith in Sqeenix's ability to know better.

I wouldn't mind if they added Toriyama portraits into the dialogue windows, like FFIV Advance and such. I like his (game) artwork, sue me.

Woo, Chrono Trigger is my favourite game of all time. It's not just nostalgia either, watching Simben's LP was great, the game is as interesting as it always was.

No, thanks. I mean, no offense, but..
she dies for a reason. And in the entire time you know her, she is otherwise occupied. Keeping her alive would change the story pretty greatly, and bringing her back to life would trivialize what she died for (kinda like bringing back Aeris, or Odessa [Suikoden] would).

I think retranslation is also inevitable, it's going to be a part of this package.

Hopefully they'll get Alexander O. Smith on the job (Ace Attorney Series, FF9, 10, 12) and do as they did with the GBA versions of FF4-6; retranslate the bad bits and keep the iconic bits like they did with You Spoony Bard and whatnot.

But they didn't keep the iconic bits in FFVI, that disappointed me greatly about FFVI Advance.

I've never played Chrono Trigger. I just got into RPGs last year and have played Final Fantasies 1, 2, 4, and currently working on 3.

I am excited. Never expected to find a cart of this game "in the wild"

This + Mega Man 9=AWESOME Nintendo news week. No if they'd just release Earthbound on the Virtual Console, the cycle would be complete...

Frog was completely different in the original source. He didn't sound like some medieval knight -- he sounded like a slippery rogue-ish dude. I wonder which route the translators will take now.
Having just watched some of Simben's LP, the only real problem the shift caused probably had to do with the gold rock situation. Not that that matters.
