Congrats, what does that translate to in real people grades, the highet possible degree or what?
yeah, it's the highest ranking (fail, conceded pass, credit, distinction, high distinction) for anything that scores 84+, i think. i got an 88, which is pretty awesome
after two years of work i'm damn glad, too
Are you, by any chance, a real big spender as well?
i do admit that using express post to send in drafts could not have been adversarial to my score
Well, you looked like a man of distinction so I was curious.

I idly wondered where VC had been, but then I realized that it was just because we could go a fucking day straight in chat without some retarded argument popping up between him and someone else.
So yeah. I wish him the best of luck but I don't really consider him the greatest of posters when he got all annoyed and shit.
Is there any reason to worry about my grades (other than pride) if I'm not even sure if I am going to go to grad school
Do I want to go to grad school?
How good do my grades need to be?
Because I was going up, up and then dooown
Surely you guys have some kind of degree classification? Because that matters in all jobs you applied for. Nobody wants a 2ii. It's another word for fail. As is a 2i actually, I can say this from my smug ivory tower of first classness.

Man the Chloe Marshall thread just makes me feel bad that I've not really been working out for the past 6 months, and good that I am now starting to do it again. Having highly visible abs was awesome, though I mostly miss my aerobic fitness.

In the US we have three types of honor distinctions at graduation (this might actually vary a bit between universities, I'm not sure), but those seem to be considered exceptionally good more than the lack of honors is considered exceptionally bad.
Is there a certain tag or something to put on a thread in AC if I'm looking for someone to draw something for me?
Ask in the chat thread, a new thread will just get locked. It might be better to approach somebody who has a style similar to what you want, but I've no idea how much they will charge.

Is pride not good enough? If you're looking to slack I don't think other people are going to go justify it for you.
Pride is good enough, but I stress out about my grades to the point where it probably hurts me. I talked to the therapist person about this... I dunno, if I make a mistake on a test I spend so long thinking about it and how dumb it was and how if I hadn't made it I'd have this grade, or yadda yadda. Or writing papers, I spend so long thinking about writing a good paper that I don't end up writing a good one or kill myself in the process.
I feel like if I thought less about grades I would probably end up with better grades... but it's so hard, when I was used to having such an easy time in HS and am surrounded by tons of people smarter than me now.
I pooped my finals this last semester and had like a 3.7 which I thought was poopy and bad and I worried about it, and people told me it's fine... I think I set too high standards for myself.
And my dad, trying to calm me down when I am spazzing out asks me "what the hell are you going to do with those grades anyway?"
What kind of kinky stuff do you want drawn, Gooey?
Actually, it's funny you ask that. I'm trying to come up with a concept for a brand image. I know what I want it to look like in my head, but I'm artistically retarded.

Also, if you're not sure if you're going to go to grad school, you're obviously also not sure that you're NOT. Always good to keep your options open.
How good your grades need to be depends on the grad school you're trying to get into... I got in at a half-shade under 3.0 (like 2.96 or something that rounded up to 3.0). A more competitive school might want 3.5
edit: Yeah, 3.7 is more than good enough for anything you're likely to want to do. Chill. :P

I need to use a distillation set to produce my own brand of whiskey. What do you distill anyway?
I don't distill nothin'! And you're best off trying to make gin if you want to use science for drinking. It's just neutral spirit flavoured with aromatics(which always include juniper berries). You can use a vacuum malarkey (one of those chemistry things that makes things boil at low temps) and a few other bits and bobs to do this.

A bachelor's is a bachelor's is a bachelor's.
You can graduate with distinction but as it was mentioned it's more "Ooh, nice" then "Oh he doesn't have that? What an idiot." For most jobs it can only help but it won't disqualify you in the slightest if you don't have it.

Yeah, that'd have been my answer as well. :P
Wait a minute...can people see what I'm doing with my hands in real life?!?!

Yeah.

I hope his break from the forums has made him happier.
I like it when I outlast people that I didn't particularly care for.
