And silly me, I didn't notice until AFTER purchasing both tickets.
Is this a problem for anyone else?
My allegiance would be clear if I hadn't already committed to escorting an out-of-state family member around Bumbershoot. As it is, it looks like I will be waiting for final schedules for both events so I can split my time between the two.
On a related note, has anyone ever walked from Seattle Center to the WSCT Center? Google maps says it is only 1.4 miles...
Thankfully Labor Day is firmly in September next year, so I won't have to choose again :P

But, if you are really lazy:
Option 1: walk north on seventh avenue until you reach olive way. Walk up olive way until you see a big Starbucks with a rock bench and trees by the bustop and catch the number 8 to seattle center.
Option 2: Catch the number 43 going up to capitol hill and get off somewhere on John street or Olive way, just make sure you passed the starbucks. Then, cross to the other side of the street and catch the number 8 to seattle center.
Option 3: Walk to Westlake center and catch the monorail to the seattle center.
The first two options would only cost you $1.50
while the monorail would cost a lost more for round trip tickets.

I'll be trying to catch Beck, Thao Nguyen, !!!, Saul Williams, Neko Case, and maybe Man Man or M. Ward on Saturday.
Then Minus the Bear, Battles and Del the Funkee Homosapien on monday.
but i guess it depends on scheduling

Oh, Lordy, the final schedules can't come soon enough for me. Bright side is that PAX would focus more on the day and Bumbershoot, more on the night.

Also, its a short walk from WSCTC to Westlake Center where you can hop the monorail directly to Bumbershoot for the more "fun" or touristy experience.
But then I saw that Del Tha Funky Homosapien was going to be there. I think I might need to venture off from PAX for a short while.
Zach Galifianakis and Beck would be awesome to see. I hate that these overlap. However, I know where I can send the GF if she gets too geeked out and wants some decent music to go watch.

I heart Tim Finn. And Anti-Flag are just sheer brilliance.
Good luck getting into those specific concerts, too. There is rarely enough space for everyone, so if you are dying to see any particular band you have to line up first thing in the morning.
I don't have bumbershoot passes yet and got my pax passes already.
Seeing Beck live would complete my life (you DO NOT want to know how big a fan I am), but I can catch him in Vancouver or LA if it becomes a necessity.
Apparently the Black Keys are opening for them, but their guitarist is one sloppy motherfucker, so meh.
Ah, last I had seen, the schedule wasn't out yet. This is really good news, because it was the only act I wanted to see this year. I'll now be making an effort to see them.
Thanks for the tip, Momo.
Bumpershoot is Athsssss... cept for a few..Go to PAX and visit the few performers u want from bumpershoot.
Since The Offspring is playing kinda early on Monday, I don't know if this is necessary for them..it's mostly the night acts.. But for a lot of the headliners that play the "Samsung" Main Stage, you need wristbands. Which means they will only be letting people with wristbands in, and the wristbands are handed out throughout the day. For the shows that require wristbands, you'll need to get them secured early in the day, before they run out.
I haven't been to Bumbershoot in years. I used to make the trek every year, but it's gotten prgressively worse. You used to be able to buy all 3 days for $35, but it's $35 each day. You used to be able to get into any show you wanted, now you have to get to the venue at least 30 mins prior to the start, and wait in line..or get wristbands The crowds are horrible, and the vendors lack the uniqueness that they used to have. And don't even think of trying to find parking. I dunno, My GF and I may go on Monday, as it looks like the best day. See Death Cab but only because she is freinds with Chris Walla, and we used to live in the house that they recorded their first album in. Will also see Del tha Funkee Homosapien, Flobots, and Paramore.
If you go on Monday early.. I definitely suggest Vince Mira. They call him Juanny Cash. He's a 17yo kid that covers Johnny Cash like no other. It's insane to see this kid belt out the songs. Also Flatstock is really cool.. Rock posters, Art and such. I enjoy this so much, it's almost worth the cost of the ticket itself.
You lucky son of a bitch.
It is much better for the local performers than it is for the headlining bands. That said, it's way too expensive for what it is.
