sometimes i will sit down and see how many books i can read in a saturday, i can read all the narnia books and island of the blue dolphins, or 3 700 page fantasy books, or dune once. (each time i read it i like to take it slow and enjoy it a little)
I dunno. Unless I'm really absorbed into it, I usually take much longer to read a book than I'd like. It's largely due to having an attention span so terrible that my mind will sometimes wander when I'm in the middle of tryign to read a sentence and I have to refocus my attention over and over, and a single pages ends up taking 3x longer than it should.
Bel it took me two years to read lord of the rings
To be fair, Lord of the Rings is some dry, boring-ass shit.
:^:
I either read books really quickly or really slooowly. If I don't finish a book in one sitting it can be weeks before I pick it up again. Count of Monte Cristo took me a year to finish, whereas when I've been on a plane or train journey I can read 2-3 books cover to cover.
I can't read quickly, if I do the words go through my head but I don't take any of it in. Then I wake up like 3 or 4 pages later and notice that I can't remember what the hell is going on at the moment.
taking the wet bits of clay my art teacher referred to as "slip" and applying them to these little lines i make to link between the bits that comprise a box
i mean, i hate making shit and tools using it to put change in or even worse as ashtrays but nothing is cooler than making something that still stands up after you leave it alone for a while
I love when the market comes to the city. In addition to fudge of every flavour there are continental pastries and German sausages and ostrich/kangaroo/venison burgers

sometimes though I'll watch a movie, clean up the room, make myself a nice snack, close the curtains and turn off the phone. Fucking good way to spend an afternoon, I've got a date with Gene Hackman tonight I think.

Tolkien was great at story ideas, but the guy couldn't do prose worth shit.
