Bondi Blonde Advertisment.

Hey all, im usually a lurker and haved dabbled in some of the forums, but this is my first post in Artist's Corner. So yeah, comence the hazing and what-not.

The reason for this post is I would like some help designing some in house advertisement for my family's tavern. As some of you may know, Paris Hilton recently spent New Years in Sydney, on behest of a the owner of an Australian brewery releasing a new beer called Bondi Blonde. We have recently adopted this beer into our range, and I thought a bit of advertisement would not go amiss. What I wish to do is create a bar-talker, A4 or smaller, featuring Paris Hilton to try and spark some interest in the product, and some impulse buying from the hype from the release involving Miss Hilton.

Now, when *I* think of Paris, at least a small portion of my mind thinks of her infamous 'movie' and im sure a large amount of the male beer drinking population may do so too.... So, for the ad I was thinking a still from that video of some wang in mouth action, photo-shopping out the wang, and putting in a picture of a bottle of Bondi Blonde. Then some text saying 'Bondi Blonde, Paris Approves!' or something along those lines. The image hopefully woud turn out to be completly innocuous (spelt right?) with no nudity of anykind, but be a bit of tongue in cheek humor, which i have seen works quite well for advertising.

Now, I guess the problem is, after several hours trawling the intar-nodes looking for a suitable, free, source image, i have failed to find anything of quality high enough to use. So, if anyone can point out a site to me, I'd be grateful.

Im also looking for some critisim on the actual idea, and if anyone has something they think might work better, that would be rad too!

Im passable at photoshop, and posess an okay tablet, if that is of any use.

Also, can anyone think of any possible legal ramifications of this? Its just some small in-house advertisement, can I be fined right up? Or just hit with a cease and desist?

Any help would be right on, and well, if im doing anything wrong against the rules here (i did read them), please just tell me, and I will alter my post.

Cheers.

*fakeedit* Sorry, im a comma whore.

You want us to direct you to a website with pornographic content on it?

Now, see, this is why I was hesitant to ask for help. In a way yes, in a way no. I thought that the humor of an *almost* pornographic advertisement would attract more attention than one with a normal Paris Hilton in it. So yeah, it would be nice, if someone could point me to some, uh, source images. But it would also be grand if someone pointed me towards a less lewd source image. I guess I could go back porn-mining and pay for a higher quality image to alter, but then, the reason im doing this for my family is to lower costs, so yeah. But if im out of line with this thread, I can remove it. Am I out of line?

I think it'd just be best if you just used a normal picture of her...

Well, normal relatively speaking. She looks the same in every damn photo.

mmmm, I know what you mean. But, yeah, I really thought the tongue in cheek humour would really work. Im not sure if you familiar with australian beer ads, but the real silly ones work really well, like with the Tooheys Extra Dry, and the Carlton Draught ads. I was trying to create something along those lines. Oh yeah, and the whole 'sex sells' thing too.... Um, well, do you have any suggestions DarkPrimus? Seems you are fairly clued in, so yeah, any advice? Thanks in advance.

I'm assuming this is something you want to print? If so, then you're not going to find an image of good enough quality to look remotely decent. Even the source video quality is probably too low for reasonable printing needs.

And critically, while I may not be an advertisement major, the idea seems a little underdeveloped to me. Maybe you have the photoshop expertise to pull it off, but the image conjured in my mind of a beer bottle photoshopped in over her giving head just seems like a bad image that would pop up as a bad spray in a game of Counterstrike with the appropriate l337 giggles. As I said, you might have a mastery to pull the idea off, but the idea itself doesn't work for me in all honesty.

well, the whole point is that its some in-house advertising... and some, no matter the quality, is better than none, in my opinion. Im definatly no guru at photoshop, but the idea was to attract attention, and hopefully some sales. Winning medals for best ad *Evar* isn't really my aim. Cheap, and effective is the aim. I guess maybe im just trying to push my original idea.

So, can anyone help with my advertising plight? anything fresh and interesting? This could be an opportunity for someone to try thier hand at something, and I could apply it into a realworld situation /stopwhoringtavern.

well, basically, im still looking for a hand here. I can go it alone I guess, it just would have been nice to have some input.

Anyways, whatever is what and ever, and I thank you Artist's Corner.

    So.... wallpaper?

I agree with Aaron, the idea is simply hopeless, both in terms of the concept itself, and the fact that it'd be impossible to find a screen shot of high enough quality to use. Plus, you'd almost definitely hear from Paris Hilton's lawyers if the advertisement ever got outside of the building.

Sure the video was infamous, but not everyone immediately thinks of the video when they see her. I think about spoiled rich kids, narcissistic, superficial, white-trash-in-a-miniskirt, pandering to the lowest common denominator, uneducated adults and nepotism, not her sex video. If you HAVE to advertise her beer (which, by the way, I don't think you should even sell her beer, which probably tastes like piss water anyways), you should think about how you can play on her as a prissy bitch star/heiress, not her sex tape.

Wrong. What if I did a poster for your tavern where my concept is basically this: I take a shit in my hand, and then smear it all over a piece of paper, then I piss the name of your tavern onto it, and hang it up as an in-house advertisement? Is that better than having no advertising at all? If that stuck-up cumguzzler Paris Hilton is going to put her face on a beer, and you're going to sell it, then all the advertisement you need should be on your menu already.

I agree. The idea is really bad. Stop pushing.

The fact is, this thread should have been closed a while ago. I just wanted to note that I hate Paris Hilton enough to tirade upon you.

Yeah what paulwind said, if you haven't gotten her permission to put her face on the beer, then you my friend will be bankrupt soon after if you decide to do this.

Edit: and also... just a bad idea.
