The main one I recall was the chess game where the bishop shoots the king with a pistol. The current version has a beer can in one hand for some dumb reason. There are at least a few others, though.

Wait I thought I got the blowjob one until you said the tunnel is the joke. What did I miss?
And PBF is probably my favorite single webcomic.
phallic symbolism. Think about it, what comes after the blowjob?
That's not a joke so much. I thought I was missing a joke.
you wouldn't really get Dr. Strangelove to the full extent in that case.
I'm not saying I don't "get" the phallic imagery. I'm saying I thought I was missing some big funny "ah-ha" in the PBF style. I wasn't. It's just furthering the same theme.

I found humor in it. Its like whispering "penis" after another penis joke
The look on Green's face in the last panel is the best, as if he is only now realizing what his role is.
You wonder if the blue guy is retarded, or if its the result of multiple gunshots. Also, it would have been more funny to me if he went the racist route of the black and asian guys being the bullets and all the white guys were the gun parts. The minority Power Rangers tended to get shafted like that.
It's even as heartwarming as the trope it subverts. The kid still got his wish, didn't he?

I love this one because it's so unexpected what the punchline is, but in retrospect makes so much sense. Also, fuck, I want a dude ensuring the tastiness of my cereal, willing to sacrifice and die for the noble cause of deliciousness.
Does anyone get the one below? I have never understood the joke.

It's always had a beer can in my memory, because the chess pieces with the gun are meant to be drunken cheating louts.
Like as in the opposite of birthpains, so Death had a kid?
If so, this comic just got so awesome.
I think more like you would look at the title and think "The Pains of Death - the pains that occur when you die," when in fact the title could also mean "The Pains of Death - the emotional pain Death suffers from his ineffectiveness."
Talking about the Pains of Death made me realize that what is great about PBF is that you can take one strip, and people find it funny for multiple different reasons, reading into it in different ways and being amused
This reminds me of something else..
If you follow the ordering on the pbf site, you'll notice it skips around a little. I remember introducing a friend to pbf, showing him some of my favorites, and being unable to find a few. Took me a while to realize the author had taken some of them down.

Huh? Which comics has he done this with?
The king shot first?
Don't want to post it cause it's borderline furry pr0n but that gopher was getting a continuous bj in that position in another strip.
Oh shit, I never made that connection until just now.

this is the best thing
This floored me the first time I saw it.

It's just that Death has pushed the baby down the hill, trying to kill him, but the pram comes to a stop. Curses.
Also, thanks Aethelred, I didn't expect the joke to be so simple.
Also, the title means "The Pains of Death."
It's a pun. Get it?
If so, this comic just got so awesome.
Death is pained by the fact that he didn't kill the baby

Well, more that he has to walk all the way down the hill and push it into the river since gravity wasn't enough. Which is a pain.

As someone who read that book, the kid totally fucking deserved that.
I don't follow.
I never asked for this!
comic: the tree has had enough of the kid's shit
How effective do you think chaining myself to his front porch in order to get him to restart the strip will be?
Effective. I'll relieve your shift, uh, maybe spring break?
Yeah I didn't get that one the first few times I read it.
