every time this sort of thread pops up I have a nasty habit of trying to identify possible personality traits in the person based on their list of favorite animals

my favourite animals are the duck, the mollusk, the elephant, and the large penis
I find it laughable when some of you try to judge some animals as dicks or as cool based on how they evolved to survive in their environment or how cute what they eat is.

Man thats just natural for people don't be such a dick about it.
Unless you mean someone actually pissed at an animal just eating or something, like really pissed.
I rather like how humans have evolved to find things with big eyes cute since human babies have big eyes, and just about every type of mammal has gotten caught in the crossfire.
Jeff's a country boy, grew up in central Idaho on a farm and works for Darigold
Ruth's a city girl, and before she married Jeff had practically no exposure to farm animals
after they married, they moved to Boise which Ruth was totally cool with, they have a nice place about 15 min outside of Boise with lots of land and when they took on a few horses for some family members, Ruth was ecstatic
omg horsies!
Jeff very quickly got it into her head that they are not pets and they can and will fuck her up if she is not careful around them

I can actually break down exactly why my top five favorites are my favorites and what that might say about my personality
example
white tiger - I perceive to majestic in the wild, with white coats and very light eyes, their appeal to me is almost purely aesthetic
black panther - like the white tiger, a unique breed that sets it apart from its more commonplace cousins (i.e. leopards) they, like all big cats, are hunters
blue shark - brutally efficient killing machine
gray wolves - highly evolved pack mentality
dusky dolphins - like the white tiger and black panther, a less common form of an otherwise very common species; I like dolphins in general for their connectedness to the water and perceived playfulness, and the dusky ranks as top because it's just so damn pretty
my personality, based on these five, is shown in what I think is beautiful (simplicity of color: black/white on a tiger and all black on a panther), what I respect in an animal's behavior or perceived behavior (pack mentality/hierarchy, intelligent playfulness, general efficient badassery), what I view as a form of mystique (all black hue on a panther), my love of the ocean, my affinity for aggressive personalities, and my appeal for things that possess a unique look that sets them apart from their otherwise identical cousins
naturally it's easy for me to do this with my own personality because I know what I like and who I am and it's easy to tie the two together (or force connections, even), but you tend to notice patterns all the same
EDIT: Dru I do not know why you are quoted there but I'm too lazy to find the post I meant to quote

there is literally nothing a jellyfish has that it doesn't need

they're basically just like giant furry justice machines that go around killing the fuck out of things however they damn well please
also occasionally breaking into people's houses for some mac and cheese in between all the mauling
they aren't psychopathic baby-eating rapists like lions
no they're solitary and just kinda do their thing
also a mother tiger will basically raise anything that is wrapped in tiger print
like baby pigs
my favourite animals are the duck, the mollusk, the elephant, and the large penis
why do you keep doing things joe tells you to do? he isn't family
somebody post that picture of her family

This just in Viv loves horse dong
also is that a bear? nice
that was pretty fucked up
seagulls must be dumb as shit because the other seagulls just watched their buddy bob get ripped apart and didn't even fly away
that bear is so fucking unimpressed
he just does not think highly of you at all

the hawk already ate, no need to get upset about it i guess
holy shit
also i'm a huge fan of sloths
sometimes they reach up to grab a branch
and by the time they get there it's already rotted away and fallen
and then they're just like 'well shit' and just kind of roll with it
and by roll with it i mean fucking bail off that tree
this might be a complete lie i just heard it once
also peregrine falcons go like 300 mph in a dive
like what the fuck birds
the hawk wasn't hungry anymore
not a threat
