Bummer. Might have to settle for just five spread-out command points, none very close to either team's base, that you can cap in any order.

if you can change the timing so its near instant cap it would work similar to the other one.
Except everyone would be equal speed, so I could see that going very, very badly with coordinated scouts and spies turning a game around in seconds. One thing that was nice about cz2 was that only the flagrunners were slowed, so the only ones able to ultimately win the game were sitting ducks without lots of free-moving escorts.

edit: definitely going to have to check out that map sometime soon Knuckle

oh yeah. i forgot about the speed penalty.

I know a number of your tuffs2ers enjoyed my last dj mix, I am attempting to do a weekly mix.

Users of my last dj mix saw a sharp improvement of the K:D ratio, from 1:3 to 10:1! go grab it now in the Artists forum. Or in my Sig.

Also, I've been eyeing gmod for a while, does it work with all official Valve games?

Normal (i.e. free) photobucket accounts also let you use albums that you can make private or public, there's just the chance that your images will be removed if they use up too much bandwidth.

The blutsauger is pretty ridiculous, but not so much that you see pure offensive medics. I think it's fine. Either a nerf to blutsauger, but preferably a buff to the needlegun. Maybe if the blutsauger didn't do the same amount of damage, it's kind of sad how often a medic can win a pyro or scout fight.

Pyros and scouts have always had the advantage if they manage to get up before they're noticed. Pre-blut, I still won most pyro/scout fights because I was aware of my surroundings. But yeah, even if they get the jump on me now I can beat most scouts on PA (not Tiny, godfuckingdamnit) because of the blutsauger. And Pyros? Pssssh. I've dominated Sirtoons with just ubersaw kills. Go ahead, ask him.

Best idea I saw regarding the ubersaw/blutsauger thing was to switch their downsides- ubersaw can't crit and the blutsauger shoots slower.

The needlegun relies on spamming needles at the target to do damage and melee weapons very strongly rely on crits to kill the other person before they turn around and mash your silly head into a pulp. Their current disadvantages are basically slaps on the wrist (blutsauger still does fine damage, good healing; and the ubersaw can still crit someone to death in a second), but switch them and they lose a lot of damage and it becomes "Do I want damage, or the secondary effect?"
That is a really phenomenal idea

Yeah, comon', let's buff the needlegun, if only so we have more people playing medic. Sometimes it's like pulling goddamn teeth trying to get two in a team of twelve.

It really, really is. I've been wanting to play other classes lately so I don't get rusty with them, and every time I do we start losing horribly. And then I switch to medic, and two ubers later we've won. It isn't an incredibly complex class. Keep yourself safe, heal hurt teammates, heal teammates likely to be hurt, fight spies/scouts/pyros so they know you aren't an easy kill, tell the best suited class to go go go, uber them, and repeat until you've won.

not really. medics still die laughably quick to any competent player if we dont have support. changing everything around to make us more neutered defensively will do nothing. the only reason i would say you needed to do anything would be against tandem medics, but thats so easy to counter now that it's not even funny.

Who cares? If Medics need a buff they can get a buff. But unlocks are meant to be sidegrades, both so Medics can have a fun choice between two equally viable playstyles, and so people who only like one can enjoy the class as much as people who like the other.

The Blutsauger just needs its damage nerfed. Blut for escaping and needlegun for killing-while-escaping. Right now the Blut gets it both ways, not having crits isn't nearly enough of a downside.
How do you escape when you have no deterrent against pursuit? A medic can just barely outpace a demo while backpedalling, provided he can run straight and hits no obstacles. If he can't hurt his pursuer, he is just going to be run down and killed.

I didn't say no damage, I said less. If you don't like it you can pick the needlegun, that's the whole point. You have to choose between prolonging your life while you retreat, or killing your pursuer quickly at the cost of defense. It's a sidegrade. If you know you can't get away without killing them then just use the bonesaw.

It doesn't prolong your life if it encourages the other guy to run you down and kill you, and you in all reality, the only class a medic can outrun while shooting at is the heavy.

It does prolong your life if you have a teammate to kill him, or you're too far away for them to catch up and are healing off of needle spam. Sidegrade. The current Blutsauger has no disadvantage in the 90+% of the time where the needlegun isn't critting, which is retarded.

ok. look. medics really shouldnt be doing anything other than healing. the difference between the krieg and the medigun is so extreme that for a long time people didnt know how to use the krieg. it took what.... 8 months before people really started to use it effectively and even then it took them ramping up the charge rate at that. the needlegun needs something extra to give it a reason to be used because the redesign of crits ruins what little it had.

medics dont need a buff. they dont need a nerf. they are fine the way they are. give me an idea that would drastically alter the playstyle of 'healing your teammates' and i will buy a ticket to wherever you are and blow you.

The redesign of crits has nothing to do with it, the needlegun has been garbage compared to the Blut since day one. Now it's even worse but nobody really noticed because already nobody was using it. Worst tradeoff in the game bar none. Buffing the needlegun will have undesirable side effects - giving it more damage/crits or adding uber charging to it will encourage combat Medics which are detrimental to the team. Nerfing the Blut will have a pretty negligible impact on the Medic exactly because they already heal 90% of the time like you said, but if it somehow pushes them over the line then they can be buffed in other ways.

Yeah, that was SotQ, we disbanded a while back. I simply wasn't a consistent leador. Plus I've discovered I enjoy TF2 much less when I make it into a competitive thing. Not to rag on competitive play, it's great. Personally, it's not suited for me. It took me like a month after disbanding the team to realize this.

bingo. ask me about my gingers

edit: zek: thats pretty much my point exactly with one exception. the needlegun is better for offense, but no one uses it because battle medicing is dumb. its like being a scout who stands still to aim or a sniper who tries to scrap on the frontlines with an smg. its really not what youre there for. my point is that we dont need a nerf to our already bad squishyness. just a slight buff to make the fact that the needlegun crits more prevalent. maybe make the ubersaw swing slightly slower. but the mechanics of the weapons themselves are fine.
