So again, we have a good continuation of the Great Fables crossover in the Literals #1, that has Buckingham art, which is a treat.
Kevin Thorn has a writers block, so he summons the genres to help him out with his story (which is to tear down this universe and change it to make it better):
Bigby, Snow, Revise, Babe and Gary head to Thorn's old house, which is rigged to blow up. Thorn realizes Bigby is coming after him, so he literally (heh) rewrites him into......
A nice tip of the hat to Detective Chimp.
Also, GL #40 was decent. A lot of Johns weaknesses as a writer appear though. We do get confirmation of what happens to become an Orange Lantern
So it seems when they die, they are still themselves just astral form in the orange battery, like Wendell is in Nova.
This is a habit of Johns, killing minor characters to make the villain seem h4rdcor3.
And the story is 3 pages short to have a back up by Johns and Albuquerque telling a story about an Orange Lantern (the one who ate the GL ring).
Nova was good as well.
The Nova Corps get beat by Gladiator's Imperial Guard, then are slaughtered by the female Gladiator's team.
RIchard gets into Ego's brain, and ta da, Ego is actually in control of the Worldmind. Well duh. Still good solid storytelling from DnA.
And because I'm a nice guy, here are some funny scenes with Starman from JSA #26, which is just a nice fluff issue:
Moment of the Weak: Uncanny #509. Land drew Dr. Rao to be 25, and he can't even trace the red dot on her head correctly. Also, the Alpha Flight guy is being traced straight off his UFF Reed Richards. Also, this forced tension between Scott and Emma = weaksauce.
The Red Queen doesn't have a physical body, and is looking to transplant herself into Jean. Psylocke was just a test to see if it could work. Also, Land got to draw Emma in bondage, that probably made his day drawing that one.

And it seems he can be called SUperboy again, guess the lawsuit has been settled or something
Answer: With science!
Emma... What? Hm.
Huh, that's not bad. Still, between that and bringing Bart back, the book seems like it's a bit congested with miracles.

Not only that and Bart back, but the miracle machine in Final Crisis, the Legion should just be called D.E.U.S.E.X. or something (hee hee deu sex)
Also, I was able to find the page with the Emma stuff:
Psychic bondage, but still. Also, pornface in the top panel

I mean, not knocking him for his opinion, but Land is no Alex Ross.
Also worth note is that the Indigo Lantern t-shirts aren't really indigo in color, but more a faded blue. A shop employee was wearing one today.
Super-heroes need to look like super-models, duh.
Yeah, I was disappointed. The only good story was the first one about Doom.
Bear in mind that this is a fantasy sequence.

No, it's a what if one year later.
Emma's was the worst, just a look back at key points in her life. A waste of Acuna's art.
Oh ok. So the two chicks by his throne.
Dooms a playa.

Oh wow that would rule so hard.
I'm still trying to figure out how in the world I knew what would happen on a page 2/3 into Nova. Cup of Joe, maybe? Nah... I don't read that. Weird.
Just finished Runaways #9. Moore wrapped up his run, and while it wasn't great, it advanced the Staff of One plot and had just a nice little ending where Moore recognizes how Molly and Klara are some of the better new characters Marvel has created.
That site has scans from the new issue of Ms. Marvel, and ... I don't like slagging comics. Especially ones I don't read. But goddamn it. That's the best Reed could do? That was worth "killing" Danvers? What a fucking waste.

There was a preview with textless versions of those scenes.

Oh man it was so awesome.
This is my favorite this week too, though Nova was pretty great as well. By the time Lo3W and Blackest Night is done no one will be dead.
It was fantastic.
I like how Geoff Johns has made it his business to fix unpopular, editorially mandated mistakes. He's very Dan Slott-ish in that aspect. If I recall correctly, he also took it upon himself to undo the chatty version of Cassandra Cain.
Let's hope Youknowwho's got his personally back too.
