I honestly think Defoe instead of Heskey would suit England right now.
Crouch consistently scores for England but it always goes the same way
He starts and scores.
People go "Oh yeah, we have to use Crouch he always scores."
Time passes
People look at the Marfansy looking dude
People want to start someone else
I think the new way we can tell if someone is a robot/android/cylon is to put them on the jumbotron. If they don't jump up and act the fool, frag their synthetic ass
See the thing is with a sufficient number of foxes you can neutralize three lions.
Maybe, but you'd at least expect the lions to bite a few heads off some foxes in the process. Honestly, this isn't down to Algeria, England are simply playing poorly.

wathcing that replay makes me want to smash something. Welll, guess we gotta come out next week and crush algeria. Don't leave it to the ref.
With most bad calls, you can usually at least see why the ref got fooled. Either it's very close, he had an unfortunate angle, there was some exaggeration, or whatever, there's usually some explanation as to why he messed up.
Not in this case, though. It's impossible to figure out why he called what he did.
Is the referee ever going to explain his call? In baseball or American football, referees have to explain their calls. If they've made a controversial call, they normally answer a few press questions explaining/apologizing for it.
Are we just never going to hear what that ref thought he saw?

"h shit I forgot. They told me to cut down on jostling and hand checking in the box on free kicks. Looks like its about time to arbitrarily make that call."
there were a dozen other crimes going on but he picked the one player that didn' t do squat, had he called Offsides on bradley that would be differnt but its just stupid to think edu did antying but beat his man. Oh well, i really hope we come out against algeria ready to crush.

FIFA is a more corrupt, more entitled more sanctimonious version of the NCAA so probably not
If it makes you feel any better he'll probably never ref another World Cup game in his life. Hell, Graham Poll's fuck up in Australia v Croatia last World Cup pretty much ended his entire career.
Also earned Šimunić a kick-ass nickname. Ol' Three-Card Joe.

Will the press not try to get an answer from him? Is he forbidden from answering questions, or just protected from them?

This is England. Some random Algerian fan will get caught on camera winking and it will be their fault England are out of the cup.

Noone playing exceptionally, very few playing well.
Too many barely playing at all, I'm looking at you, again, Lampard. Total passenger.
He looked shocked when the ball fell to him in the Algerian box.

Hey America used to be a team with great defense and shitty offense. We vary how we fail at international soccer

Reminds me of the British faction from Company of Heroes:
- Start match slowly.
- Bunker down.
- Shell enemy with the best artillery in the world.
- Profit.
Let 'em eat fucking pineapples!

This is awful.
