    With most bad calls, you can usually at least see why the ref got fooled. Either it's very close, he had an unfortunate angle, there was some exaggeration, or whatever, there's usually some explanation as to why he messed up.

    Not in this case, though. It's impossible to figure out why he called what he did.

    I still need an answer to this:

    Is the referee ever going to explain his call? In baseball or American football, referees have to explain their calls. If they've made a controversial call, they normally answer a few press questions explaining/apologizing for it.

    Are we just never going to hear what that ref thought he saw?

    FIFA is a more corrupt, more entitled more sanctimonious version of the NCAA so probably not
