THE SITUATION
You are at the annual executive board meeting of MultiCorp Multinational. You are wearing fine silk. You are well armed.
A wealthy executive with a large stake in MultiCorp Multinational, you lead a problem free life of extraordinary privilege.
...Almost problem free.
THE COMPLICATION
Shortly after you took your seat, the Main Computer sounded a warning:
ALERT: COMPACT THERMONUCLEAR WARHEAD DETECTED. APPROXIMATE 5 MEGATON YIELD. DETONATION OF 5 MEGATON THERMONUCLEAR DEVICE LIKELY TO DISRUPT ANNUAL EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING. LOCATING POSITION OF DEVICE...
The room was already sealed, so there could be no evacuation. A voice from somewhere within the haze of cigar smoke asked how long it would take the computer to find the bomb.
PERSONAL LUGGAGE & BIOSCANS SHOULD BE COMPLETED IN APPROXIMATELY 5 MINUTES
The room balked. You did as well.
5 minutes was a completely unacceptable amount of time to waste simply 'scanning' people and briefcases. You could practically feel every passing second sinking it's teeth into your bank ledger, eating away at your sweat & blood. Besides, why should you have to submit to a BioScan or a bag check? You were law abiding and self-made! Fuck such an ugly invasion of your privacy.
"The Hell with that! We will sort this out, and then get back on schedule!"
You watch a few fellow board members begin to... 'adjust their ties'. You begin reaching for your own 'tie'...
THE GAME
This is a mini phalla for up to 15 players. There are some special rules:
- Every villager has (at least) one sidearm that they can shoot once per day, and most players will have some sort of attack. Anyone who types,
I disengage the safety on my [weapon] and attack @[player]
...will kill that player, so long as the victim is vulnerable to the weapon being used. Killed players cannot post any messages after they are killed (except the traditional phalla singular ghost post). This happens in REAL TIME - you can kill or be killed by another player before a day even ends. Kill posts need to tag the player(s) being shot. To compensate for what will undoubtedly be overlapping orders, there will be one minute worth of time after you are killed where you can still post & act as normal (the forum timestamp will be used to determine whether or not you've posted within this window). If you accidentally make an in-game post a minute after you've died, please delete that post. If you are shot by a weapon that you are invulnerable to, please respond to the person you shot you with:
@[shooter], I am invulnerable to your pathetic [weapon]
(You may, of course, end up shooting at someone who isn't browsing the forums at the time and doesn't respond right away. This is fine! Be paranoid!) Every weapon will also have different parameters for who it can target.
- The village is comprised of Suits. The Suits must eliminate the Androids to win the game. Any other factions in the game may have their own special win conditions.
- The traditional Phalla voting system applies. Democracy may be the only way, in fact, to kill the hardiest residents of this board room.
