"listen, guys, the problem is the guy who hates tutorials. cold open, cinematic, it's totally unimportant. this is in no way a writing problem"
and then if they won't listen to you whatever, write something good for whatever they decide on. who cares
This is fantastic. I literally said "holy shit" out loud when I finished reading this bit:

I was really enjoying it until I hit one of the "wait until X cycle of the moon" parts that had just passed. then I saw there was a way to manually change the in-game cycle, but not if you'd already done [some action]
the game basically said "come back in three weeks" and I didn't bother
