    Hehe I showed my gf the wolverine trailer and was all like "look look he's pretty how could they have messed that up?"

    "Actually, he's pretty ugly by anime standards."

    No, she means, if you take the visual standards applied to japanese anime.
    And you translated the look of the american wolverine to this one, like you would translate a sentence.

    But yeah, I still think he's not stocky enough and his face is not feral enough, because that's what I grew up with.

    I was just pointing out that it's probably a relatively faithful conversion from their point of view. I can see why they did that.

    That looks exactly the same man. He's just as tall with a handsome face. The jacket is where most of the bulk is.
    The only feral thing about that picture is the claws.

    I guess I'll post this here too but are there any good anime/JPop music internet radio stations? I used to listen to Japan A Radio back in the day but apparently free users can only listen to the stream in ten minute chunks now.

    Drives me nuts that they started doing that, but they still have listeners so it must pay off for them.

    AnimeNFO is usually a decent one, though I can't find a link outside of Shoutcast for them.

    Armitage's Dimension is another one I'll listen to occasionally

    That's kind of why I like Kaiji's and Akagi's style. It stands out because everyone is ugly. It's like the artist went more for style then trying to give something for everyone to swoon over.

    That or he likes drawing funny noses.

    I just looked this up and started watching. 1st episode was mediocre, 2nd episode was pretty cute, 3rd episode was bizarre and it seems to just be snowballing from there. I like where it's going.

    Holy shit is the opening creepy, though. Like, the show itself is really pretty light-hearted when you get down to it, but that opening is so...

    I finally caught that Marvel anime teasers. Yeah, Wolverine character design is kinda gay but Iron Man looks awesome though the villain looks too much like a Matsumoto character.
