Purportedly to distinguish her more from Dixie. Even though there was never any confusion in the first place considering they already had completely different outfits and hair.

Would it be possible for Nintendo to replace Jetpac in DK64 with something of their own for the VC release, like DK Jr. Math or something? Or just pull it out completely? Or would that be more trouble than it's worth?

On the other hand, they may be holding it back for porting to the 3DS...

It's unlikely. They'd have to replace both games with new, unrelated games and that would require them to do extra work that I'm sure they wouldn't want to do especially since the game is just a regular one that no one would be willing to pay more for.

Buying Shantae along with Mighty Flip Champs soon, since there's a spiritual sequel on the way.

Now to decide if I want to buy it on my DSi or DSiXL.

The game is graphically superb, and the players are realistic portrayals of uncanny casino characters. Choices include an undercover vice cop who practices what he patrols and an aspiring actress with a daring streak. You'll find 12 characters in all. Best of all, the game is based on the authenticity of poker and the algorithms that produce a natural falling of the cards. You'll swear you're in Vegas as you face the pressure of making a call or daring a bluff while your money sweats it out on the table.

Nintendo adds new titles to the Nintendo DSi Shop and the Wii Shop Channel at 9 a.m. Pacific time on Mondays. Nintendo DSi Points can be purchased in the Nintendo DSi Shop. A Nintendo Points Card™ can be purchased at retail locations. All points from one Nintendo Points Card must be redeemed in either the Nintendo DSi Shop or the Wii Shop Channel. They are not transferable and cannot be divided between the two systems.

Yup, very soon. Down to 4 bugs, all errors in the english manual.

    http://www.beamdog.com/forum/forums/general-discussion/topics/mdk2-for-wiiware#post_16

I'm working for beamdog atm doing development on our digital distribution client, not involved in the MDK2 work but I got to see an earlier build in an emulator.

I didn't think the wii controller would suit it very well but I was quite surprised.

Edit: We still haven't nailed down exactly what we are doing with MDK2 HD, it'll be the same game but with newer technology in the graphics engine so it'll look much better. afaik at least, I'm not on that project so don't take my word for it.

Do you know if it'll be on Steam or will it be exclusive to Beamdog? Personally I'm much more likely to buy games that are on Steam than elsewhere.

    You're a god among men.

Thank everyone you work with for bringing me my favorite Dreamcast game again. You're doing a better job than Sega themselves, and that poor excuse of a "Dreamcast Collection".

Also if MDK2 HD ever made it over to the 360, I'd absolutely be buying this twice.

Well, part of why we're doing it is to drive some traffic to our service :P I'm not sure what the specifics of the deal are but I think we might have at least a short exclusive period.

This is weird timing, since I just got the urge to track down the MDK2 soundtrack today and lo and behold I find this. Absolutely one of my favorite games ever. I will be getting both the WiiWare version and the HD remake on PC, thank you kindly.

Neat! That's a classic. However I warn you that it has annoying movement/physics - once you reach the top of your jump or walk off a platform, you plummet really fast. And walking always starts out slow and gradually speeds up the longer you walk, but if you ever stop for a second you'll start out moving slow again.

But it has awesome music, pretty decent graphics for a NES game, varied environments, and a lot of different equipment and spells. Overall a pretty solid game.

I'm just happy they managed to squeeze Faxanadu out right after Hudson closed its U.S. offices. Maybe Konami's handling Hudson's U.S. affairs now?

I thought the Wii already had a virtual fireplace. Do you get to stoke the flames with a Wii Remote?

And Faxanadu seems like a worthy send-off for Hudson, though it seems like an Adventure Island game might have been more apt...

Say, I wonder what happens to Meijin now...
