Oh wow, thank you so much to @DaxterMax for Life is Strange! I didn't even know this could be purchased yet. I've had it on my wishlist since it showed up in the Upcoming Releases section on Steam, so I'm very excited to see that it now has a release date (January 29) and that I'll be able to play it then!
Thanks @Zavian! I am really enjoying it so far. For some reason I never got into The Binding of Isaac but this game is really clicking with me.

Wahey, it took all my melted backgrounds but I got Bob Came in Pieces for 1k gems! Glad to finally dig into another Ludosity game after how wonderful Card City Nights was, and this seems like a really interesting physics-based puzzler.
Remember folks, the Sonic Grand Prix is THIS SATURDAY, 11PM GMT
Itinerary:
The racers will be split up initially into two lobbies, due to numbers. Each of these lobbies will complete the DRAGON CUP (Tracks: Ocean View, Samba Studios, Carrier Zone, Dragon Canyon).
The podium finishers of each lobby at the end of the Dragon Cup will qualify for the final lobby. The final lobby will then undertake 8 races, and whoever wins, gets a Steam Game of their choice at full retail price.
If anyone else who has donated wants to get involved, let me know, @Kanden has kindly offered a copy of the game from his inventory for anyone wanting to get involved but doesn't have the game.

Oboy-oboy-oboy . . . WINTER GALE TOMORROW, GUYS!
Okay, calm down. Am I ready? Must consult the LIST.
<unrolls comically large vellum scroll, dips quill pen into inkwell, begins to write in wildly exaggerated strokes while speaking loudly to no one in particular>
Lessee . . .
-- Done idling all games for cards? CHECK.
What, you didn't really think I played 13 hours of Blade Symphony overnight, did you?
-- 21 Badges ready to craft at 10:01 PST tomorrow morning? CHECK.
-- Slagged all duplicate emotes and backgrounds for barely enough gems to bid on a game? CHECK.
-- Bid on and won said game to ensure auction badge trifecta? CHECK.
Is Greed: Black Border a good game? Who the hell knows? It cost me gems that I didn't pay anything for, so WIN.
-- Converted fifty Best Buy bucks into Steam Wallet bucks via gift card shenanigans on the way home from work? CHECK.
-- Moved Steam app to front screen of phone to enable easier Flash sale monitoring during meetings? CHECK.
-- Voted on which *amazing* game @CorriganX must play? CHECK.
Quack-quack, dude. Sorry.
-- Wish list scrubbed and re-ordered to reflect current desires? CHECK.
Looks like all systems are go! I couldn't possibly have forgotten anything . . .

@Bobkins Flymo and @Karoz, today's donation is for $18.44, in honor of the year Mr. James K. Polk was elected president.
In 1844, the Democrats were split
The three nominees for the presidential candidate
Were Martin Van Buren, a former president and an abolitionist
James Buchanan, a moderate
Lewis Cass, a general and expansionist
From Nashville came a dark horse riding up
He was James K. Polk, Napoleon of the Stump
Austere, severe, he held few people dear
His oratory filled his foes with fear
The factions soon agreed
He's just the man we need
To bring about victory
Fulfill our manifest destiny
And annex the land the Mexicans command
And when the poll was cast, the winner was
Mister James K. Polk, Napoleon of the Stump
In four short years he met his every goal
He seized the whole Southwest from Mexico
Made sure the tariffs fell
And made the English sell the Oregon Territory
He built an independent treasury
Having done all this he sought no second term
But precious few have mourned the passing of
Mister James K. Polk, our eleventh president
Young Hickory, Napoleon of the Stump
Metal Gear Ground Zeroes (which comes out in like 12 hours) for 10ish bucks at Nuuvem. It is 33 percent off so likely to be the same when the Winter Dale starts, but still cheaper here most likely. It activates fine in the US, if you're worried about the recent changes to region restrictions.

They also have Shadow of Mordor Season Pass for ~$7.50, which seems amazing.
Way too much to comment on but some standouts are The Escapists for 5 bucks, a Batman bundle that includes every game including Blackgate for roughly 5 bucks (no Origins DLC though), Crimson Clover World Ignition for 4ish, and Mordor Season Pass for about 9.

What's the deal with people bidding more in gem-money than games cost in real money?
I'm still trying to figure out why people are bidding hundreds of dollars worth of gems for a profile that will poof from their inventory in a month.
Anyway, my auction haul:
Noir Syndrome
Card City Nights
Date Warp
Heldric - The legend of the shoemaker
Loren the Amazon Princess - Deluxe Version
A.R.E.S. Game + Berserker DLC + Soundtrack
Go Home Dinosaurs!
The Book of Legends
All for like 15k-ish. I got just under 2k of gems left, would've grabbed something else if the market hadn't locked me out.
What's the deal with people bidding more in gem-money than games cost in real money?
It's a fictional currency to them so it holds little value.
But it's a fictional currency that can be exchanged instantly for Steambux.
Like... one annoying example:
Dungeon of the Endless is on sale for $6.50.
The high bids for Dungeon of the Endless are roughly 10,000 gems.
The bidder could, if they so chose; sell seven thousand of those gems for seven dollars; buy Dungeon of the Endless for $6.50 in steambux; have .50 and 3,000 gems remaining.

Winning isn't everything. It's the only thing.
Even when it's losing? o_0
look when fake currencies come into play for most people logic and things like opportunity cost go out the window
you also have to keep in mind Valve/Steam have become experts at attracting people with more money than sense. Logically these people should not exist but they do.

You know those stories about how people get credit cards and then spendspendspend until they go into debt to pay it off? Well, that's digital currency in a nutshell. Even when there is a real world value, it still isn't 'real'. I bought five bags of gems and bid on a $20 game. Got it for ~$3.50. But I'm an exception, not a rule.
Everything else is people who need to win. Competition brings out the worst in some people.
If there is anything so-called positive about it, most of these people probably gobbled up gem items for cheap when this began. So perhaps they're only wasting half as much as you think.
So per my $6750 point, I've been playing Bulletstorm (any other game loaded has been idling for cards, and I'm usually playing Bulletstorm simultaneously). Trishka is a delight.
Since the person who broke $7000 is anonymous, I was thinking of having a straw poll of the chat to pick which of the games I won in auction I will play next. We'll see who gets $7250 tonight, probably

At good rates you'd only need 6k gems.
I was approximating, of course.
What's really cray cray is that Valve is giving away a few million dollars in games and probably still turning a profit on the Market rake.
Not sure whether to laugh, cry, or pour a dram. :-P
@Jazz decided I should rule the stars. He is clearly a person of great wisdom and foresight. When I do eventually take over the world, I'll have to remember to give him a special position.
I'm thinking maybe stuffed and mounted over the mantle?
Well, I can figure that out later. For now - Thanks!
Even if you grabbed those 500k gems when they were pennies, spending only $15, you could turn that into six hundred dollars. Orrrr you could get a bit of gold trim on a website for thirty days.
2nd place is DNA Gender Bender Twisted Extreme with 15 votes.
Close close close vote, but.. fuck. I really didn't want to play Duck Dynasty. Oh well, its for you guys to reward you for such generous offerings to the Children.
I'll set up a time to start streaming it, probably on a weekend soon. Going to have to talk to @Houn about getting the game first, since he very very very graciously offered to buy a game I don't have if it wins. I'll get into contact with him then update you guys with info on when the stream will take place.

Thanks a lot, can't wait to try it!
I feel that my price of $69.99 is a fair price to even out the median pricing.
