"What if instead of being ABOUT animes with big boobs, your video games WERE animes with big boobs? A Kafka-esque tale of games with big software assets."
The games are pretty funny. I can't help but laugh at all the little gaming jokes and references. The entire series is about taking the piss at the video game industry and they're never serious.

Just finished Blue Dragon, finally. I enjoyed it, but I was ready for it to end a little while ago, and it didn't help that it took me two full evenings to get through the last dungeon. It's kind of weird to see a game that's so clearly aimed at kids in terms of story and tone, but to have more complex character customization and combat than a lot of more 'mature' rpg's.
It also clearly showed its roots as a launch game, it lagged when anything remotely complex happened on screen.
edit:: Also it did the usual dumb jurp thing of having a ton of cool combat spells and abilities which are completely useless against bosses. Why bother giving me the ability to curse opponents when I can only use it on mooks I can easily wipe out? Other than that though, combat was really solid, if clunky.

Despite having bought the FFX boxed PS2 console, I had never seen anything to do with FFX-2 besides a poster or two and some discussion on these forums until I watched this.
Now I never want to see anything to do with it ever again.

I also thought the lyrics in the title were referring to this:

You're missing the best battle system in Final Fantasy.

Perhaps, but it has the worst story.
Do you happen to know of the novel set after the events of the game that was deemed canon?

I've never Jurped those Jurps, but I feel like when something is that dumb, it ceases to be cannon, no matter how much the creator insists on it. The audience at large can just say, "Nah."
Due to their exposure to light, the pupils of a "Seeker of the Sun" are vertically aligned slits with irises faintly colored. It is also not uncommon for their eyes to be disparately colored from birth, a trait considered auspicious amongst their kind.
Sun catpeople look brightly upon heterochromia.
I submit they are the most anime.

This is the eternal paradox of FFX-2.
The battle system is perfect.
The story and dialogue is the worst of any FF I've ever played.
The only jurps I've completed that I'd rank worse are probably the Ar Tonelico games.

It looks a lot like Fairy Fencer F @Professor Snugglesworth was talking about a few months ago.
Same company, and virtually the same mechanics.
Personally I found Fairy Fencer the better game, though. Neptunia had a bit more grinding, a bit more uneven difficulty, and a shit-ton more moe.
That last one is either a positive or negative, depending on the individual.

Fairy Fencer is a traditional JURP with a sense of humour.
Neptunia is a comedy JURP with solid mechanics.

Not going to lie...that little melody playing during the intro really brought back memories.
Chose the Expert Sphere Grid...and it really isn't as intimidating as I thought it would be.
Jurp isn't an acronym.
Of... of course not.
