The newest xkcd is better than most of them. Mostly because he's being a stuck-up know-it-all like always, but this time it's gonna have bad consequences.
It's still not very good, because it feels like a set-up without a punchline. It'd be pretty good if there was a little less text in the panel and a second panel just showing the jackass getting beat by an interrogator or something.

I think anymore would be unnecessary
You know something bad is going to happen
And this way lets you use your imagination
a very bad webcomic is that one with the dog who somehow gets human awareness and she encounters species-discrimination and makes out with her owner who's like twelve
also it's all a metaphor for transgenderism or something
even though I often find goatmon annoying, at least it's not through lack of him trying to improve himself, unlike lucky cynic and wiggin who are just unabashedly awful and revel in it
goatmon you realize you're smack dab in the middle of that whole genre of poster right
we have poster genres?
old timer, fresh meat, artist, hipster, girl, blue collar poster, schadenfreude material, actually funny people (probably not enough of these to fill a whole genre)

Like Rane said, it and white noise kinda overlap
They are the posters that are there a good portion of the time and they might be an entity off the forums as well, but they have no significant identity.

oh god that was awful
it is easy to find webcomics worse than xkcd
but xkcd is so pervasive
probably because it encourages that little culture of inclusion among nerds of all types
one kid brought it up as a discussion point in a boring philosophy class and i was silently thinking oh god it has spilled into my real life now

Sturgeon's law may say 90% of everything is crap (and really this is probably an underestimate) but it also says that 10% of everything isn't.
I showed this to my roommate who really likes xkcd

also it's all a metaphor for transgenderism or something
this is true in general and doubly true in regards to humor
I think I remember somebody making CAD actually funny by cutting it down to one panel and taking out all the dialog or something
there was a site devoted to that for a while, but I think they shut it down due to lack of interest or whatever
but I'm pretty sure the shittiness of the comic isn't why people hate it
i think I remember something like this
like taking the first and last panel
I try to pay attention to what gets people mad at him, and pick up tips on what not to do.
Same deal with Lucky Cynic.

hipster / stupid teen
a blue collar poster is someone who makes the posts that gotta get made
they're up on the latest jokes and drama and so forth, and still remember some of the old times
they produce a regular stream of acceptable posts
you would have a beer with them in a bar in middle america
their jokes are just slightly overused
you get the feeling they probably don't know why they're laughing when someone mentions their brother at MIT hacking the forums
they ask someone to draw them and get ignored
they probably joined in 2007 and have about 9000 posts
