Kind of a shameless "ask the internet" thread.

The story: I have a little sister choosing colleges to apply to. Tell me why your school is awesome (or not) and I'll pass along your sage advice.

My sis:
1. Is American. Most likely she'll be going to school in the US.

2. Is crazy smart and wants to be an engineer. (Civil or Operations Research, probably.) Loves physics.

3. Is bi. Needs a school where that doesn't ruffle feathers.

4. Is kind of a cynical, worldly, music-freak type. A city girl till death. She disdains sorority girls, preppies, and places where everyone is white.

    Okay. Cooper Union, you say? NYC + engineering looks good.

    She's not a douchebag. I guess I am just bad at describing people. The thing is, though, I go to Princeton, and I know it's a good school, but I also know my sister would be turned off by the atmosphere even if she gets something out of the academics.

    Engineering at NYC can be at Cooper, Polytech, and Columbia. Polytech is a complete and utter sausagefest though.

    Purdue University is a pretty boss engineering school.

    We are part of the reason that Indiana went blue for the first time in something like 40 years. So conservatives aren't too big of a deal.

    Predominately Asian and White, though. And the third largest Greek community in the country.

    at most universities you will be graded on the curve at some point
