Cool! Just curious. Good times...
[chat], I'm thinking about spending a little time in G&T and doing a "Let's Play" for Freelancer. What are your thoughts?
I'm open to suggestions of different games, though the games will have to be fairly old/graphically basic, due to my 3 year old laptop.

Freelancer is so fucking awesome. There is no end to how much I'd love you if you did this, though I'm unsure how you would seeing how it's not exactly linear and 90% of my time I spent exploring shit and finding wormholes.
I have the [strike]wurst[/strike] username. I was like 12 when I came up with it.
It does feel that way sometimes. It occurs to me that, were I a more consistent poster, or if I posted in more non-[chat] threads, I'd probably have a boatload of posts.
I wish the forums let you go back far enough to see your first post.

This game is lasting longer than I thought it would based on where I'm at. So maybe you guys could tell me how much more I have. I would love to finish it tonight. Spoilered for those that still haven't played it.
Well in any case, I thought the game was going to end shortly after that... Well no. It doesn't. It still goes. I love the game, but I hate how I feel like it's just dragging along. It's like a movie that's 3 hours long that should really be 2 1/2 at the most.
So basically I just got the second part of the "antidote" so that Fontaine can no longer control my mind and the second part gave me full use of my plasmids. How much longer do I have? Should I be able to finish it tonight without pulling an all nighter? I was close to doing it last night thinking I had to be close, but I didn't want to stay up later than I already was cause I was getting tired and now I'm kind of regretting it at work.
hey, mines not much better, hell i don't even remember where it came from.
But I keep using it though because it's like a bad habit I've picked up....
Celeste [Switch] - She'll be wrestling with inner demons when she comes...
Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age [Switch] - Sit down and watch our game play itself
ooooooo Freelancer damn I love that game.
Have you done a Let's Play before? I've been contemplating trying one myself, maybe of Tron 2.0, or maybe something else. It's a vague idea, since I won't really have the time until January/Feb next year.

I usually avoid G&T at all costs. I mean, some guys in there are pretty cool, but usually they argue about stupid shit. Much more stupid than shit we argue about in D&D. But I guess it's all relative, cause I'm sure someone in G&T is thinking the exact opposite of me.
But I definitely love to watch a Let's Play of Freelancer. I've never played it and thought it looked interesting.
I was thinking of framing it with a number of different options. I'd be playing the single-player campaign, giving people the option of determining my path through it. For example, in the opening chapter in Liberty, I like to slaughter ludicrous numbers of Bounty Hunters so that I get in good with the pirate factions without losing my rep with civilization in general. That gives me the chance to get sweet pirate weaps and the Dagger, one of my favorite light fighters on looks alone. I'd leave the decision to do that or play more...legally up to those following the thread. Assuming there are people following the thread.
And I think that, if I do it, I'll end up doing a lot of it "in character" as Edison Trent, with explanations of my strategy as spoilered asides.
If I do this, part of me hopes that there's demand for illegality. Traveling the Trade routes can be boring at times, but there's something inherently fun about smuggling Cardamine.

I have not. I've read some really good ones (the Let's Play Archive has eaten hours of my life).
Originally I thought of doing it with just screenshots and text, but do you guys think I should maybe do some of it on video? I probably wouldn't want to do all of it that way, because if I'm say, smuggling Cardamine, that can be long, useless minutes of back and forth, back and forth.
Maybe most of it screenshots/text, and story missions on video with semi-snarky voiceover from yours truly?

I don't think so. I still have my old CD, though.

The internet: For porn, spam, nigerian fellows, lulz and d'aww.
And, if you're into that, porn with nigerian fellows.

"Oh look, that planet is effectively only 10 miles long!"
1 hour? 2? I just feel like if it goes on longer than 2 hours I will probably stop playing the game. I really don't like first person shooters on consoles, but since my Motherboard is fried on my PC, and I've always wanted to play this, I picked it up for PS3.
What about porn with nigerian fellows, as they spread spam over your body and wear Guy Fawkes masks and they tickle a kitty while they're being fluffed.
Yeah. The realism factor is low, but that's cool with me.

then someone sends me a message
now i'm sitting here.

Hell, for what it costs to buy a PS3 game, you could have bought a new motherboard.

Work in a shoop da woop reference and that sounds like quality porn.

It was $10. If you can find me a good motherboard for that price, hook me the fuck up.
For ten bucks? You'd be lucky to wire together a speak-and-spell.
Well, I was mainly joking about $60 games, but that's a good deal.

Or as I like to call it, "Speak like the devil".
Dane Cook used to have decent jokes...
Edit -
Yeah, I rarely buy new games these days Alec. Just too much money. So I wait for them to get "old" and then buy them used from either Gamestop or McKays (used bookstore/music/videogames/dvds).
Also, I'm not going to buy just a new MoBo. I'm going to get a new processor and video card, so I'm having to save up for it.
Wow you like Dane Cook....
wow...
What are you thinking about, hardware-wise?
Oh, and do you have some kind of dimensional portal that transports you to a time and place where Dane Cook was funny at some point?
