Damn this episode was nuts. Not a ton of laughs for me but I enjoyed the hell out of it.
Finding out that he was actually Rusty's son was out of left field. Hank was on point as well. Can't wait to see what happened with Dean and what's up with the Rusty that showed up.

    Yes it was.
I wonder if Nikki will be back with signs of another Venture?

Goddamn does this show keep finding new depths for Rusty to sink to

Yet somehow making it so fucking pathetic that the dude ends up pitiable

What a gloriously grim comedy this show continues to be

    He's strangely horrible and sympathetic.

Especially when it actually seems like he wants to do the right thing for once.

I'm pretty sure Hatred was in New York since he and Doc we're going to catch a musical together.

Well, I think this was their summers. So Doc was in New York with Hatred for like 4 days, but Dean was there for three months.

True, but I don't think they are going to focus on Hatred and Rusty's short time in NYC at all. It will be on Dean the same way the last episode was centered on Hank.

Dean being away from them will be interesting.

    You know what

I think these Hank episodes have been so good because we can see him actually succeeding.

The whole show is about failure and the boys fail at everything they do. So when they do something right it is just so exciting.

Hank being eskimo brothers with his dad doesn't take away the entire success of him banging a hotter chick than anyone would have assumed he would. Small victories are more victories than anyone actually expects for the Venture-verse.

Plus Hank was below the age of consent. He was probably just a pawn in a woman's revenge on his father. My father used to own titty bars and I was into older women when I was a teenager so I know a thing or two about this.

That is also a theme in this show. Rusty's life was messed up by his father's mistakes and enemies. Now Hank and Dean are having their lives messed up by Rusty's failures and enemies. Once again Rusty has failed to save his sons from the fate which fell on him.

I was more referring to him putting the hat on and becoming suave and actually having sex (which even though it would ruin him to know who it was, was still a HUGE accomplishment for him).

Also that he was able to successfully pass all the tests that Sphinx threw at him despite most of them being aimed specifically at making him fail.

Those two episodes have been my favorite so far and I think it was because of those small victories.

You have to remember, the small victories in Venture terms usually set you up for massive failures.

it depends how you're counting his age

current year - year of birth is at least 19 in the show

add up all the times during which they were not dead and they are at least 16, depending on how much time has elapsed since "I Know Why the Caged Bird Kills"

Holy shit I'm loving this second part of season 4.

I was very glad to see that Scott Hall is still around. But this latest episode was hilarious and just plain fun. The tag was amazing. Dean needs to hurry up and do something cool because Hank is blowing him away right now.

She didn't seem to hate Rusty, just pity him for falling so short of what she pictured him as he was in his youth. She had sex with Hank because he reminded him of the young idealized Rusty she has a thing for.

so if I freeze a fertilized embryo and leave it frozen for fifty years and then implant it in a womb, let it grow, birth it, and then wait for it's 16th birthday then that 66 year old person should get social security?

That's freaking brilliant. finally a way for super science welfare whores to make an easy living off the system.

I know but I thought there was a little subtext there. She was raped when 15 and she raped the son of her rapist when he was 16. Women are kinda screwed up when it comes to rape that involves pregnancy.

At any rate I'm glad there is another Venture Brother. Is the rejected Dean still alive, I kinda forget what happened to him at the end of "Perchance to Dean." An episode with all the Venture brothers working together would be pretty awesome.
