That is the extent of what I can do to help
you can tell them exactly what time it happened, which direction they ran, how many shots, how the shots sounded etc. You might be able to really do some good even though you didn't see their faces.

Although from the description they provided, I would hardly describe Hupp's involvement a "gun battle". Dude drove his truck through a Luby's and started shootin'. Now, if she had the gun that was in her vehicle at the time (per Texas law), it would've been a "gun battle."

keith's rationale of disdain for people taking other people's lives comes from a genuinely good place more cats should have. but the world at large does not value human life at all, and arguments to the contrary that society is for the preservation of life is just bullshit
we got money goin down the tube where people dedicated large portions of their life in the study of how to kill motherfuckers better. we got dudes who is crazy. we got cats getting sentenced to death row
i don't think the idea of a gun for defense is all that silly because jesus christ nobody values life
at what point should you start valuing the life of somebody who doesn't value life?

Just called, told them what I could. Cops have the whole block blocked off and stuff according to my mom who drove by on her way home because she was curious and is a silly goose.

I was a bit curious about how all that played out afterward. What the fuck was the dude's malfunction that he'd bust in and start gunning down seemingly random strangers?

I especially like the girl's story about her dad and the cannon.

Carrying a handgun for defense is not completely unreasonable, but you need to think of your own daily routine. Even if you apply for and receive a concealed carry permit you still have rules regarding where you can and cannot carry that firearm. Beyond the fact that you are armed in a world where most people still are not, and the sight of guns still alarms the majority.
It may give you peace of mind, but it may impact your life in more cases than it improves.

I was just walking home, picked up my little brother, and we were walking home. Next to his school, there is a catholic elementary school and a public library where a lot of kids hang out after school, I used to be one of them when I was in elementary.
I heard three loud pops and saw the guy fall and three guys run and grabbed my little brother's arm and hauled ass and didn't stop till I hit my front door. I can hear the ambulance and cop cars from here.
Who the fuck does that in front of children.
Jesus, the first read through of this I thought you said the guy grabbed your little brother's arm.

From what I remember, he had lost his job and was having a mental breakdown?
I think it's awesome how Texas handled it.
Mass shooting occurs.
Person involved in shooting becomes politically active.
Rather than enact laws to further restrict law abiding citizens, they make concealed carry legal.
Most other states would have cracked down on restrictions.

Quit telling him to call in. At this point, there's nothing he will add to their investigation that hasn't been reported already. Considering that the kids ran off after shooting the guy, they left the shell casings from the bullets so they'll know what gun was used. Other people will have reported and they'll know the number of suspects and the'll know what they wearing. What more can he add?

My feelings on gun control are a bit mixed, but yeah, that probably was the best way to handle it.
I can understand having a handgun in your home for personal protection or defense, but it's the fucking stories like the one about the poor damn kid who went to this dudes house on Halloween and got fucking shot to hell and back by a paranoid dude with an assault rifle that put me off.

i mean, i won't be internet whine-ass here and make broad generalizations because people do value life
but it's about distinctions and hypocrisy
society can send a man to death and it'll be acceptable as a humane way of our society
but then extinguishing life is thought to be a terrible thing and is considered morally reprehensible

yeah, I didn't mean to throw my personal hang-ups in there. I never got that the same people who support wars and the death penalty are so hung up on abortion. don't kill babies, let them grow up and make shitty decisions and then we'll kill 'em
everything's more complicated than that, though. it always is.
