To make it a challenge! It's supposed to be a challenge.

I agree that you should be able to use whatever the heck team you want.
If/when an Elite Four is ever formed, however, maybe you should have to use the same team just for them. That's just tradition.

Well I am working on tweaking my gym team to make it easier to beat, at the very least.
Munkus Beaver on
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
All I'm saying is this isn't shoddy. If people want to spend time to breed and train specific Pokemon to beat your team, then they should be able to. If anything it's proof that you made a balanced team despite the type disadvantage. Kudos to you.
What I want to avoid is the league becoming inaccessible for casual players, like how unapproachable the Elite Four was in the original setup even for veterans. The road to becoming Pokemon Champion was too arduous. No one could get near you.
This should be a fun diversion for people who have beaten HGSS and are looking for a way to stretch the game value. Like the Battle Frontier, but with real people.
Trade it over to another game
Equip it with a lucky egg
fight the e4, switching it in and out every turn with a high level pokemon with good moves that can run right through it. I used to use a level 80 something gallade with night slash, psycho cut, leaf blade, and close combat, tears right through the E4.
Well, I still intend on trying to defend the Dark Gym for now, but I could use some help getting two, possibly three of the team I plan to use.
That's the team I'd like to be able to have, but I would need to have someone trade me a Spiritomb and Gligar for sure, and Drapion would be appreciated, since the Great Marsh doesn't seem to like me, on either game, for the past couple of days..
Hoping I can complete this before interest fades, and hopefully I can provide more of a challenge than Brock does.
Also, I made a terrible little badge to match my terrible little gym, if we're doing that.
I can give you a Lucky Egg if you want
and an Exp. Share if you don't already have one.
I have a lucky egg, and 2 exp shares. Its mostly just the hassel that all good eeveelution moves are in teh 70's, and my impatience with them is kicking in.

I agree with this. I don't see the point in registering a team for all the Gym Leaders...you can switch whatever you want like in the games.
I know I've designed my team and strategy around the moves and pokes people would likely use to defeat the Ice Type. As well as being able to take down as many different types as possible without being too stretched. I'm also trying new strategies out so this is fun for me.
The rules right now are functional, anything else would be too restrictive.

Ah, that'd be great. Anything in particular you're looking for? I'll be raising all these guys on Pearl, so FC: 1676 7951 0481.
Not really, I don't really like Glaceon. Playing this defensively weak type on a team where 4 members share it would really discourage a defensive strategy. I'm not going to reveal much more than that, though I've started work on Team B, and so far all I've got is Weavile and Walrein.

Nah, pretty much the only thing I'm lacking is the legendaries, and I have someone set up for some tradebacks on them when I'm not lazy. :P So anything'll work. I'm using my Diamond game so just use the code in the sig.
I'll be in the room.
Edit: Huh. There was an error. On my way back in.
Edit 2: Man, I'm really sorry. I don't know what's going on. Let me try to fiddle with it real quick to see what's wrong.
Maybe people get to use whatever teams they want and then at the end of the year there's a big ol' tournament where the gym leaders can use whatever pokemon they want and kick everyone's asses to feel better about losing for 6 straight months.

I really do want to thank you again for it, it helps round out my team very nicely as far as Color coverage.
If I only had a buggering Aggron with Headsmash I'd have a veritable dream team of steel pokemon, but I can't breed that move on Diamond. Also it would probably make for the worse coverage possible on my team.
But he's really cool and that counts.
EDIT: Actually, now that I think about it, after tomorrow Headsmash Aggron and Heatran will be the only Steel types that I'm missing. That I will have fully trained. That are worth having. That I want to have. And use. On a team.
Because they are awesome.

Nah, doesn't matter. Like I said, he was just an HM slave.
Since people are already posting there Gym teams I just wanted to say, I probably won't have mine ready for a good while yet.
I've thought up some ideas for my team and I've already decided on a few things that would require HG/SS exclusive moves. and I do intend to enjoy the single player in both Gold and Silver so it really could take some time.
I guess if somebody wants to claim the Normal gym in the mean time, go ahead and do it.
Whoever takes it, do keep in my that I will be coming for you someday. To take what is rightfully mine.
oh
For all intents and purposes, Hidden Power is of the Normal type.
Though I am tempted to take advantage of that, I suppose I won't. But I could! I really could.

Spoilers on the plot and Team Galactic.
Currently in Distortion World. Trippy place.
Gotta say, this is certainly a different approach to a 'Team X' plan I've played so far. "Why don't you just go and live by yourself?" "I DON'T WANNA, YOU ALL HAVE TO CHANGE AND DIE I HAVE TO BE TEH MASTORZ BWAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAAA....."
Cyrus has THE coolest battle music of any Pokemon I have ever played however. I actively look forward to battleling him just for that.
Edit: Fuck yeah, caught Giratia using a Duck Ball. Didn't realise those things were so effective.
On a not spoilerish note, fuck fleeing legendaries.
