I know techno remixxx/hard rock interpretations of classic videogame songs are overdone but I just found out that there's a Yume Nikki cover album that's surprisingly quality.
Oh criminy, I forgot the new Professor Layton game was coming out until the mail lady chucked it on my porch about 15 minutes ago. So on that note, here's some music because PLatXY is awesome.
Many songs were considered, and many deserving had to be dropped (or were posted already.) Here are my 3 PC game songs, the only ones I'll post for the catagory... probably... maybe... We'll see :P
EDIT: Make that 2 PC and a Wii (world of goo) PC
Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty - Heaven's Devils (Terran Theme)
Finally, there was an event called "Symphonic Legends" in Germany a couple of weeks ago, and it focused entirely on Nintendo music. I haven't been able to listen to much of it yet, but I did listen to there medley of music from Super Mario Galaxy. You should too.
So, I hate to spam this thread once again, but MAGFest has announced it's lineup of guests and video game music cover bands:

In celebration of him being in MvC3 I present to you something some of you may not like, some of you may shit your pants in fear while others bawl their eyes out in fits of rage and the others go insane.
It's time for some No One Lives Forever Bonus Music all up in here because although the normal NOLF music is just as good, you probably haven't heard this stuff ever. Listen to enough of this stuff (it's all on the YouTube profile of the guy who posted these three videos) and you'll basically know how the 60s went.

Lords of Shadow seems to have good music. The music in the demo reminded me of Howard Shore's Lord of the Rings soundtrack, this track on youtube seems to be channeling Hans Zimmer.

I just bought VVVVVV, which is awesome, by the way. Get it! But the music is really good too. Listen to this song from it, and try to not get it suck in your head.

I had set it down for a long time, but I finally finished Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box today. I have to say that the Dark Forest music is wonderful. I had to just sit there and listen to it a few times.

I'm considering buying the album too and putting it on my ipod. He's only asking for 4 dollars for it.
This left no impression on me when you first posted it. However having played this game for the past week or so since its sale on Steam, I'm really come to enjoy it. :^:
It's amazing how an experience can really change your perception of music.

I know Nier already got some love in this thread, but a) I hadn't played it at the time, dammit and b) I don't think this song was the one listed. This may be in my top 5 game tracks ever, if not top 5 anything, ever.
Glad to see somebody uploading tracks from the Nameless Mod. This one in particular made me want to start and drag out fights just so it would keep playing. More songs need to randomly burst into mariachi solos:
It's from the Sega CD version of the game (it doesn't count against my other lists :P) so it's not all syth, in fact, there is a pretty cool guitar portion they added,
This song is pretty frickin sweet (love the part at 2:40). But the game's accomplishment is in the entire OST: I bought the limited edition, got the soundtrack, have listened to it several times in the car and out of 30 tracks, I like 'em ALL. Fucking great soundtrack (it helps that I rather like the game too - I'll just chill in a field grinding monsters for no reason and rocking out to these songs).

PC
Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty - Heaven's Devils (Terran Theme)
I am usually not of fan of country rock, but how can I deny that this is a major factor in why I usually play Terran in MP?
Planescape Torment - Annah's Theme
It was either this or the Main Theme/Nameless One's Theme. Not exactly matching Annah's first impression though...
Wii
World of Goo - Cog in the Machine
Best of Times almost -almost- got the spot, but I think I did that one last thread...
...and a Honorary Mention (because it's not accually VGM):
Music Inspired by The Witcher - Sentinels of Brokilon
'Cause it's good enough to be here.
I've been on a Capcom vs. SNK 2 kick lately. While some of the music in it is just cheesy in a goofy kind of way....
.....I have to admit that they NAILED the boss themes. You just know there is an ass-kicking that comes with these songs.

Guile's Theme
No wonder the VVVVVV soundtrack is so epic.
Nier - Lost Forest
You shouldn't listen to this if you haven't beaten the game, you have to experience where this plays at.
My neck and wrists are probably going to grow a little thicker from all the air-guitaring/drumming.
