Was on the front page earlier today, thought for sure there'd be a thread on this already but a search for 'CNN' turned up squat.

Nothing very groundbreaking discussed, good to see the guys get some big press though.

Yeah the questions are pretty terrible, but their responses are hilarious. The entire thing is tongue-in-cheek, and I giggled quite a bit.

I love that PA made that photo specifically to go out in press releases to make fun of the retarded caricatures the media had been putting out about people who play video games.

    I mean seriously:
Do you think that geeks today are more accepted than before?

Jerry: Even if it were true, I would resist it. I don’t want to be accepted. I want to retain my street credentials. There are lots of geeks, and certainly geeks can communicate with one another, but ... do we have an openly geek Senator? Is there a Senator that can speak fluently about Daleks? Maybe not.

I would say that Michael and I are being beat up less. It hasn’t completely abated. It still happens on occasion. But I would say that… the beatings are less severe.

What do you think is the difference between a nerd and a geek?

Jerry: I think being a geek is cool… A geek has an ownership of their geek nature.

    And nerds?

Jerry: They don't. It’s my hope that my nerds become geeks via a natural process, that they learn that their inherent nature isn’t something they need to feel ashamed of. I feel like 'nerd' is the epithet, and 'geek' is the inside term.

Mike: Is that like what's written on a tombstone?

Jerry: Mhm. Here lies, you know, Nerd.

    How do you geek out?

Jerry: We geek out constantly. I'm geeking out right now. I'm talking to CNN.

They are taking terrible questions and giving hilarious answers. I enjoyed that.

I'd like to be witty and come up some kind of scale for how many "youtube comments" an awful post is worth but its a mathematically unsound proposition.

    WORST. GAME REVIEWER PIC. EVER.

I read you're guys column via a friend, and man...a bit too much geek for my taste. The Writing is also out there, like someone simple trying to sound important. I give you guys prop for your success and your game tastes...BUT, you're still too geeky for most gamers. I enjoy games, for over 30 years now...but I still have a life outside games.

You guys don't give off that impression and I'm not so sure that's truly a cool thing, even for a Geek.

Wait, wait, how does this work? Are "youtube comments" measure of terribleness? I'm thinking there's two ways you can go with this.

One: a youtube comment scale, where a post's quality is rated on a scale from 0 to 1 youtube comments, with 0.0 being an acceptable, quality post, and 1.0 being the worst possible post. A bad post might be 0.3 youtube comments, a terrible post might be 0.7 youtube comments.

Or two: one youtube comment is the indivisible quantum of post quality, i.e., the only way to have less than one youtube comment of quality in a post is to have 0 youtube comments, which would just be no post at all. So maybe a good post is like a billion youtube comments. A gigayoutubecomment.

Can anyone explain why youtube now orders comments not by the order they were posted in but apparently according to who you may be responding to? Not are the conversations retarded to begin with, they're also impossible to follow.

yeah they recently changed the reply system, not sure why. My guesses are:
    1) Decrease server load
    2) Make conversations impossible to follow in order to deter commenting

    My money's on 2.

youtube makes it a "featured video" and gives it ad space at the top of the list and every time someone views it you get cash (like a fraction of a penny or something)

    I think

Chi City describes it waaay better in one of his vids that I cant be arsed to find right now
