Don't know where to post a reply, so I started a thread that will most likely be closed/locked/deleted/moved/merged somewhere. But yeah.. BUY YOUR PRIME BADGES NAOW!! We don't wanna hear your QQ after you were "too late" to buy tickets, if you have seen this thread within this month.. there's no excuse.
Available PAX-grouping travel options (be a groupie of PAX!):

Currently about $420 dollars round trip using Southwest (LaGuardia to Seattle/Tacoma).
I would jump on that deal if I were you, TheGreat2nd.
That price is only going to go up as PAX gets closer, and considering how expensive it can be to fly out of Seattle (within a month prior to PAX EAST, cheapest tickets from Seattle-Boston were $300+), it's not bad at all. Plus, SouthWest is awesome, they don't charge for checking bags. :P

Wait a second...printer required to go to PAX this time?? I have to actually keep a piece of printed paper for how many months? I want to preorder, but there's no way that would work for me...

Welp, guess I'm waiting for PAX East again
I don't got $500 + change to blow.
I only spent about $250 altogether, for everything PAX East. Hotel, bus, ticket, swag, food.
Thanks for the quick answer though, wish I had the money
Does anybody know of any other local east coast cons? Maybe in the NYC area?

What's this about "tickets" and printing something out? Are they not mailing out badges for PAX? One of the best things about PAX East was not having to bring a ticket or go to a pick-up booth because we already had our badges in advance!
This year is the same as previous years, you print out your barcode sheet and get it emailed to you as well. Actual badges are still being mailed out before the event.

They'll mail out badges 2 weeks prior to PAX, as long as you buy before august 5th.
I already posted this question in the FAQ thread, but I'll ask here: If I move between now and the time badges are sent out, is there a way to inform the badge overlords of the new address so they don't get sent to somewhere I don't live anymore? (I have intentions to move June/July, which is why I'm asking)

When you register, you should print out the receipt.

That's just the confirmation stub. They'll still be mailing out actual badges. Consider it a receipt, which you can use to show that you really bought one if you're picking them up at a pick-up booth, or if yours gets lost in the mail, etc.

I used "tickets" as a generic term for "entry into a convention that usually takes the form of tickets".
That our the page says "Buy your tickets now"
I assume they will mail badges like at PAX East to avoid the fiasco of people like buying the barcode sheets then not being able to enter the conference.
PAX East was my first PAX, so I can only assume.

You can email them with an updated address, most likely. Or, you know, you could just use USPS to redirect your mail. It costs a buck, and just requires a credit card to confirm the address. Then your badge will arrive a few days later after USPS redirect it.

Don't worry, they are still mailing out the badges. It's stated on the confirmation badge that they are being mailed.

Thanks! I figured as much. Though, I try not to trust the USPS with tasks greater than delivering mail already addressed to me, since it's spotty whether they can handle that or not.

The badge will be addressed to you when mailed out. But yeah, use it as a backup plan, usps's redirection can take a while sometimes.
Was there a place to opt-in for being eligible for the Omegathon? I think in year's past you had to check a box if you wanted to be in the pool of names that the Omeganaughts are drawn from but I didn't see anything like that this time (Or anything for BYOC).
There wasn't but Official Pax just tweeted that they are assuming that everyone who pre-reg'd would opt for "yes" and will fix it for future registrations. (RE: Omeganauts)
A note on Southwest -- I've flown them the last 2 years to Seattle and have paid $200-$250 round trip both times. Usually around 3 months ahead of time they have the best deals. I'll post something about it in the WANG thread too!

That's what they said last year about buying tickets on the day.... :P
But...after PAX East, it's hard to resist. A whole year without PAX is just so hard to accept!
