Oh, I know. It was only on Sunday when I really got a handle on things. Being able to go again in five months is pretty damn awesome, but that is contingent on convincing my brother and/or friends to come.
Currently about $420 dollars round trip using Southwest (LaGuardia to Seattle/Tacoma).
I would jump on that deal if I were you, TheGreat2nd.
That price is only going to go up as PAX gets closer, and considering how expensive it can be to fly out of Seattle (within a month prior to PAX EAST, cheapest tickets from Seattle-Boston were $300+), it's not bad at all. Plus, SouthWest is awesome, they don't charge for checking bags. :P
Welp, guess I'm waiting for PAX East again
I don't got $500 + change to blow.
I only spent about $250 altogether, for everything PAX East. Hotel, bus, ticket, swag, food.
Thanks for the quick answer though, wish I had the money
Does anybody know of any other local east coast cons? Maybe in the NYC area?
There is the NY Comic Con which I've heard great things about, Otakon in Baltimore if you like anime.
As for me, two 3 day passes procured along with hotel and Airfare from DC to Seattle. Looking forward to my second trip of the year to Seattle.
As a note I managed four nights at a hotel (Red Lion on 5th) and round trip air fare for two people for $1,064. So make sure you check around for prices before settling on one.
I wasn't sure if I'd be able to do it, but when Calli pointed out that it's during our anniversary and it could be our anniversary trip... well, I pulled out the plastic.
Yep. Southwest Airlines seems to be the way to go on the plane tickets. I do believe I got ripped off going through American last time. That Ramada looks good, but the cheap deal doesn't seem to give your money back on a cancellation. Still, I am not too keen on hoofing 5+ blocks back to the hotel at night. I'll probably snag a bus if I go this route. I did the Sheraton last time, but I just don't like that price.
Got my 3 day pass, and reserved my hotel room. Now begins the brainstorming for my Buttoneer buttons...and then the begging someone who has graphic-skills to make them for me.

Sadly, I can't go on the CCST this time Rius. =( I just can't get the time off I'd need. =( But I encourage everyone who's thinking about doing the CCST and can to do so!
Sorry for the confusion guys. Those that prereg before X date (not sure when X is yet - it'll be sometime in August) will have their badges mailed to them. The only exception to this is if you live internationally and don't select fed-ex shipping.
Hotel sorted! Augh, I've barely unpacked from East. Can't an Enforcer catch a break?
Just wait until after they smooth out East.. PAX Euro anyone (not confirmed, also not denied)? You'll have to enforce all 3 of the cons every year if you want to be TRUELY dedicated ;p

They'll have to pay me to go to Euro PAX, or at least give me some extreme discounts/reimbursements. Or convince my boss to give me a raise and extra vacation.
I asked in the other hotel thread but no one seems to know. Using the pax hotel reservation system, do I have to put down a deposit? I want to make my reservations but I dont have the cash for a 200$ deposit right now if thats the case.
Yes you do have to put down a deposit. (pretty sure I answered this in the thread) ...
If you call the hotels directly you may be able to book without a deposit. I know Homewood Suites is one of the hotels you can book without a deposit, as well as get bigger rooms for the same rate.

I'm pretty sure that's misinformation, dude. The hotels do have a deposit policy which requires the first night's stay paid in advance or a credit card guarantee.
This is the way it was last year and I don't think anything's changed.
Edit: Some details from the booking website's main page;
Book now, pay later. No upfront cost.
Here's a line from the Sheraton Hotel's details, which is what it says on the other hotels as well I believe;
Deposit Policy First night's room and tax by check (made payable to onPeak Event Services) ora credit card guarantee is required.

I've already booked my hotel at the Sheraton. No charges have appeared on any of my credit cards. The site says specifically that you'll only be charged a fee if you don't show up for checkin, and that the fee is 1 night plus a service charge or something. If you cancel 72 hours before checkin, they don't charge you anything. The mandatory deposit is only if you're paying by cheque, since they want at least one of the cheques to clear ahead of time.
That said, the hotel may put a hold on your credit card, to ensure that you can pay for it, and that it's a valid card, etc.
Got my 3-day pass. There wasn't an option to select for notification when BYOC opens up, unfortunately. Is there a way to add this in? Don't want to miss out on my BYOC pass!
Too bad you already bought your plane tickets though. You could have joined the madness that is the Cross-Country Supertrip.
My wife and I are going on vacation in July, so I won't have enough pto racked up by September to take more than a couple of days off, or I would probably consider it actually.
I don't know if I would be breaking any rules for posting this, but I thought it would help some of you guys out.
We got our 3-day passes already last Saturday, and we reserved a room at the Sixth Avenue Inn. It's a tolerable long walk to the convention center, but it's cheap. They gave us the room for $101, around $112 with tax, and that's for 4 people in a room with with 2 queen size beds. So for those who are just looking for a decent place to stay for the con, it's no Hilton but it's good enough to sleep in. The room is relatively small, but clean, no doorman or bellhops to assist you, but it's cheap. Hotel parking is $15 a day.
im embarassed to admit that this is the third time im purchasing pax tickets and the 4th time im planning a pax trip. every time, it seems like i (or the boyfriend) cant take time off of work or something comes up.

hah, im a 4th year medical school student. the conversation would go something like this:
Me - Hello Dr. X, is it ok if i get a day off to go to a convention.
Dr- oh, whats the medical theme of the convention?
Me - grumble mumble awkward silence ensues
Dr - i see, i hear room three needs a rectal exam...
There was no way I was going to wait until August and end up at a hotel miles away, waking up an hour earlier then required to catch a bus into Seattle each day.
Being within a couple hundred feet is much more ideal.
