Read everything before you do anything. Failure to do so may result in me hating you, which will lessen your chances of participating.
In a moment of topical nostalgicisms and made-up words to uniquely qualify my moments, I brought this picture back from last year. I figure it'll become a tradition the harder I try to make it a tradition, because I have full creative control over this contest and none of you can do a damn thing about it. Welcome to the 6th ever Forum Battle.
What is this?
By now, you either know or can find out on your own. This is far from the first time this contest has taken place here. As usual, there will be 64 total spots, 5 of which have already been filled, and 5 more which are tentatively reserved and may be filled at my discretion. With the exception of the 4 seeded entries, the initial bracket will be randomized. Voting for each battle will once again be active for a 24-hour period.
How do I participate?
As a slight change in strategy, the thread is going up before registration opens, in accordance with this year's plan to put the onus of missing out on participating entirely on you, the participants. The thread title is repetitive and obnoxious for the same reason. What this basically means is that, no, you can't sign up yet. Registration will open at midnight, PDT, Sunday May 16th (so that's Saturday night/Sunday morning...not Sunday night...unless you live in Australia).
When the time comes, if you want to sign up, post that you want to do so in red text.
Do not sign up on a whim. Either
know that you're registering for something that may very well drag you through permanent psychotropic changes or leave the spot for someone that does. Don't waste my and everyone else's fucking time if you're not going to bother fighting to the very end.
When/How do I submit my entry?
PM me the link(s). You are in charge of your own web hosting, and there are plenty of free services out there that this really shouldn't be a problem. Either use something reliable or a couple of things that aren't (one set of mirrored links is usually enough, unless you're extremely paranoid or just plain awful at internetting). Just know that once the battle goes up, if your link doesn't work, ha ha.
Since I moved to the west coast last August, in addition to the date of open registration, all due dates for entries will now be at 11:59:59 p.m. in
Pacific Time. Please try to remember that all entries are due
before the day the battle is set to take place, not
by the end of.What if I don't submit anything?
By signing up for this competition, you are acknowledging that if you fail to submit an entry on time or do submit an entry that is the equivalent of "whatever, I'm out" or "whoops, I forgot," bad things will happen to you. No-shows from last year are barred from participating this year. 2008 no-shows, should they wish to enter, are eligible once more.
Are there prizes?
It depends on what you consider valuable.
Does ASimPerson have an archive of past contests?
What an oddly specific question. But yes, he does. However, it only dates back to 2007, so it's missing all the classic, original contests.
Can I see it?
No.
Please?http://asimweb.org/pabattle/
That's all for now. The registration list will go up and fill up when registration opens, and idiot-proof gigantic links to the bracket and official time zone will go up as soon as the schedule has been set. Remember that the break time between rounds will shrink as the competition wears on. The better your entries are, the more likely you're about to enter a world of pain. Best of luck.
COMPETITION BRACKET
Campion is in charge of the bracket maintenance this year. Thanks, Campion!

You should put this in the OP.
Satans..... hints.....
Mind is blown
need to think this shit over
But I'm not sure if I'd be able to pull it over. Time to mull it over is probably a good thing.
People have entered with text entires with good success.
then my success will be greater!
Like my vote means shit, but I would vote to have all scarlets act as one entity.
just quick short comics with dumb jokes
I have a shitload of ideas but absolutly no talent to back them up so I am perfect for this
Like the champion defends his crown or whatever?
Going to have to think about if I have anything I can actually do
final four from last year are automatically signed up
And I don't have to move when I'm supposed to be doing my entry, so I will have to ponder entering this year
IM TOO EXCITED TO READ!
You're a good man, Jigrah. It's like the musketeers.
post it, to hell
Ironic! Anticipation level: HIGHEST.
So excited!

Note the terrible version of Flight of the Valkyries playing because youtube hates my country.
