Gonna repost a few quotes from my colleague on our forums.
Nope the aug only has one upgrade level.
I'm PRETTY sure the biggest thing you can throw at someone is a fridge. I tried without the aug and it gave me the TOO HEAVY warning. Will let you know.
Surely a FRIDGE would kill someone instantly.
Holy shit. Guys.
The fridge WORKS.
Not only does it kill people with an instant ragdoll, but it STOPS BULLETS while you're holding it.
This is the greatest game EVER
Dumpsters work too. I anticipate youtube videos of people using nothing but stealth and the environment to finish the game.
Oh crap.
Moving heavy objects like fridges and dumpsters slowly drains your energy.
And THROWING them instantly depletes half of a battery (you start with two)
Looks like fridge playthroughs will need to be supported by the extra battery and faster energy recharge augs.
Also I don't think it's possible to carry the fridge between load zones, and most load zones are doors you must interact with, which you can't do while holding something.
OK, just to confirm a few more things.
All locks on doors are electronic, and must be hacked. HOWEVER, doors still have health - the game just doesn't display it. You can still blow up doors, AS WELL AS shoot them to bits if you pump enough bullets into them from any weapon (a couple of pistol clips seems to do it).
Ammo is quite rare on hardest difficulty though so you can't do this willy-nilly.
But that's not all - doors are subject to PHYSICS DAMAGE too. I basically broke into half of the Detroit Police Station by bashing my trusty fridge against any locked door that stood in my way.
Looks like much of the first game's systemic elements have survived!
Oh yeah, another point: when you set the fridge down, you can snap to it as a cover object.
So, lets recap. The fridge is:
1. A killing machine
2. A mobile, impenetrable shield
3. A large and loud lockpick
4. Mobile cover

Well now I know how my first playthrough is gonna go
After Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, is it any wonder why the fridge is such a powerful and fearsome tool? If a fridge can survive a nuke (along with whoever might be in it at the time), it can surely survive such petty injuries as "bullets" and "blunt force trauma".
I always try to start these games (Deus Ex, Alpha Protocol, Fallout, etc) as a stealthy bastard who avoids all enemy contact. Every level ends with me killing every motherfucker in the room after biffing stealth movement.
At least this way I'll have an awesome way to redeem myself for my stealth failure.
Now, to figure out if I want to play this on the 360 or PS3. Since I have both.
I'll be interested to see if there are any performance differences between the two.
PC all the way, here. Already have it preordered.
As soon as the PC press started saying that the game was good even with the current mouse issues and crashing, I cancelled my 360 pre-order and bought it on Steam. To hell with pre-order bonuses!
Now excuse me while I go and pick up my pre-ordered copy of L.A. Noire from Gamestop....

I know you get upgrade points for straight up murdering or knocking people out, but what about sneaking past them entirely? Its always frustrating when games effectively punish stealthy approaches by failing to give them upgrade points. The shifter mod for the original handled this by giving skill points for coming close to enemies without being seen and rewarding you en masse at the end of levels. Is there something similar here?

Yes, yes, yes, yes. Very unobtrusive, although given stealth gameplay you may want to mash f5 a lot
To be more specific, the crash at work is after a specific point in the game, but saying anything more that would be spoilers.
No log files I think.

They tried to bury us. They didn't know that we were seeds. 2018 Midterms. Get your shit together.
Everytime I start one I think
"ok right time to be a super fucking stealthy motherfucker. No killing unless I have to, I'll sneak around everything"
Inevitably this lasts until the airfield level at which point I think "Ok I totally HAVE to kill all these fuckers"
All will bow down before the mighty fridge!!!
And throwing the fridge kills anybody inside the fridge.
People are basically fridge ammo.
tranq darts, man!

"we need more milk"
"you can cross this fridge when you come to it"
Deus Ex: Humourous Refrigeration
"my kung fu was... crisper"
I'll be interested to see if there are any performance differences between the two.

Now cool it with these puns.
Wrong. The only way it could be better is if you can open the door while holding it, rush towards a man and snap the door closed, trapping him inside.
