Halo: Cashflow Evolved
So it's getting pretty close to that time where everyone dumps their money into a new Bungie game, and this game in particular is looking like a nice place for your money.
For those who have been living in a hole and don't know what's what
Halo: Reach is an upcoming first-person shooter video game, developed by Bungie and published by Microsoft Game Studios for the Xbox 360 console. Reach will be released on September 14, 2010 worldwide and in Japan on the ensuing day.[1] The game takes place in the year 2552, where humanity is locked in a war with the alien Covenant. Players control Noble 6, a member of an elite supersoldier squad, during a battle for the world of Reach.
So how is Reach different from Halo 3, you ask? WELL LET ME TELL YOU
Game Modes
Reach's game modes include:
Campaign -- The main story of the game, which happens immediately prior the Halo 1, but after Halo Wars.
Matchmaking -- What you're used to. Shoot mans. Matchmaking also includes:
- Arena -- A special matchmaking ranked mode. You play a minimum of three matches every day to get your arena score, and at the month you are grouped with others based on your score. There are four divisions (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Onyx, from lowest to highest), and your ranking for each season (month) will appear in your online service record.
Invasion -- An objective-based multiplayer game mode, a team of spartans faces a team of elites for control of various objectives and points on a map. The loadouts change based on what stage of the invasion you're at, and you can choose to either spawn at given points or on a predetermined squadmate.
Firefight -- Back the way you like it, with more customization of waves and options, the Horde mode introduced in ODST makes a comeback.
- Firefight Versus -- A special firefight mode where you and a friend are pitted against two others. Two players play Spartans on their lonesome, the other two play Elites along with the AI in firefight. After a round, the teams switch sides, and whoever comes out with the higher score is the champion.
Forge -- Scroll down to the bottom of the post for this one.
Armor Abilities
At the beginning of every round and upon every death you'll have a selection of loadouts to choose from. The available load outs are affected by gameplay situations as well as what you're actually playing. These loadouts not only determine your starting weapons, but also something called your armor ability, which replaces Halo 3's equipment. Currently, we're aware of:
Sprint -- Your spartan moves fast.
Jetpack -- Your spartan flies.
Armor Lock -- Your spartan temporarily erects a glowing electric bomb shelter.
Camo -- Your spartan becomes invisible and jams enemy radar. Not friendly radar. That was a bug.
Hologram -- Your spartan creates a doppleganger that runs in a straight line to wherever you were pointing, or stands still, for ten seconds.
Heal Bubble -- You spartan decides to be nice and heal everyone within an AoE.
Evade -- Your elite does a little tuck'n'roll and runs away from danger.
Credits
Surprise! Bungie decided that this time around, they should do what everyone else is doing and not show your trueskill in any aspect. Gone are the performance-based ranks of Halo 3 and in is a new system called Credits. You earn credits by doing a variety of things; challenges, winning, gathering objectives, even losing. These credits not only increase your rank, but are also what you use to buy armor unlocks and various other aesthetics for your spartans.
As you can see, the amount that you can change has seen a dramatic increase. You can now customize the entirety of your Spartan, including his/her firefight voice (yes, even gender). Best of all, these changes carry over to Campaign, meaning your Spartan is persistent throughout the entirety of your Reach experience. Here's just a few of your options.

Reach drops September 14th, 2010.
And I mean people still play Halo 3 and ODST so you could probably discuss those games here too.
Posts
i'd be down to play this but all those abilities they have are dumb as hell, and a lot of look like they will slow down gameplay even more than halo 3 already was
newwwwwww Haloooooooooooo
One was awful and two was mediocre but 3 was p sweet.
You know you're my saving grace.

i may actually buy this game
Wow.
What spring does with the cherry trees.
this was actually going to be the original thread title
also I don't know if you played the beta or not but the armor abilities are actually really well done, they don't slow down the gameplay at all. In some cases the gameplay is actually sped up because things like jetpack move you vertically faster than finding the stairs would.
I reaaaaallllllyyyy burned myself out on Halo playing Halo2 with the TBK guys. It got so bad that I never really got into Halo3.
But I loved the demo for Reach.

i look forward to the world of forge
well I mean
it's never too late to play Halo 3 again
Holy fucking shit
What spring does with the cherry trees.
I don't even own it. Gave it to my brother when I left for Tucson.
Not gonna go out and buy it, just gonna wait for Reach.
well, I liked playing it when I at least knew my partner
Basically, my ping is atrocious, and I play at odd times.
Gonna make me a Johann Kraus Spartan

please be trollin
abilities are fucking awesome
What?
Clearly you must be one of those kids who never played Unreal Tournament.
The halo 1 maps looked like quake 1 maps, and the halo 2 ones looks almost as bad, and they all played like crap.
3 really turned it around.
Abilities didn't slow anything down, except for maybe the forcelock, but not even that really.

I enjoyed Halo 2 and 3 well enough with online multi, for a couple months at least. But that's more than any other shooter can claim, so hey
The campaign has absolutely sucked for all three, though. Wasn't fond of ODST's campaign or multi
you hated all the campaigns...
including ODST
we can never be friends
I find it boring and tedious when I'm up against AI, and I don't care about the story (it probably involves bringing down a Halo)
that's understandable
i hope this game's good
at least as good as halo 3
Steam
Halo 3 is a very pretty game with a gorgeous art style
I look forward to shooting mans with you guys.
Also, I loved the powerups in the Reach Beta. If I wanted to get up 3 stories to get to that homing stickie missle weapon all I had to do was FWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH and I was up there.
Clicky!
The anime movies?
Some were pretty good. The CGI one assaulting the cruiser was prolly the best. Although the one imagining everything set in feudal japanese times was pretty boss as well with the Elites as samurai.
What
I don't know, did you not understand your own question?
