David Sedaris is a fantastic story teller, but best enjoyed in small quantities; say, anything less than 8 hours.
If you listen to him for more than 8 hours in a row you will never want to hear him or his voice again.
This is what happened to me when I listened to 'When You Are Engulfed in Flames'.
I'm going to pick up one of his books for my plane ride next week, but so far I've mostly only been exposed to him through This American Life, but I just think he's brilliant.
I just listed to a piece narrated by himself with assistance by his sister Amy Sedaris providing various voices for the female roles.

Meanwhile I "broke up" with my housemate this week... Me and my housemate Leisa are moving in to a new place with Leisa's best friend, who no longer has place to live since breaking up with her long-time boypal.
She took it pretty well. I explained it was a move based on practical reasons - our house is for sale and we may be asked to move, Leisa's best friend needs a place, and we're all moving interstate in 6 months anyway. There was a steely acceptance.
Until... yesterday. "I would never do this to you!" / "What am I supposed to do?" / "You should stay here until I've sorted myself out!" / "You woul never do this to Leisa!" / "It's not like I didn't try to be your friend!" / "You should have found a room for me to move in to!"
Thanks all you dudes. Now for the utter bewildering terror that is organizing a cross-country move.
I boxed up all my books last night, and man even though I got rid of half my books a week ago, of course that wasn't the half that consisted of huge, extremely heavy art books.
Also this provides a good excuse to finally replace my bulky old standard def TV with a much lighter HD one upon arrival.
I guess this means I should probably sign up for Facebook finally, huh?
With a new TV and a Facebook account, it feels like I'm going to be entering the world of the future, and by world of the future I mean the world of like 6 years ago.
But we were all gonna live together in this house FOREVER!!!
It sucks dude, hopefully the transition period will improve.
I remember the same thing happening in the last house I ever shared, when people decided to move on and 'break up'. It has to happen though... even in FRIENDS (which has a lot to answer for).
I guess this means I should probably sign up for Facebook finally, huh?
Facebook is a really great at sending you lots of emails which you have to delete. If so many of my friends didn't organise gigs and nights out on there, I wouldn't be on there as it kinda annoys me each and every time I use it.

You know you can set it so that it doesn't send you any emails, or only emails for certain things, right?
Yeah, I know, it's just me being lazy and not going in to change the settings... The current settings annoy me, but going in to change the settings also annoys me. It is a catch 22 of my own devising!
Teach a man to erase an email, and he still has to do something annoying very often. But you teach a man to change his settings, and he only needs to do something annoying once.
