So my friend was in a Turkish jail

A friend of mine was recently arrested in Turkey. He cares passionately about human rights and is now being punished for it. I don't know what to. I'm freaking out and feel helpless. We're writing to the Turkish Embassy and asking others to do the same. He's a complete pacifist and only wants to expose injustice and now he's in danger because of it.

There are a few articles on this: http://www.aolnews.com/world/article/us-journalist-jake-hess-detained-in-turkey/19592727

If you could write and pass on the word I'd be so grateful. Jake isn't the only one suffering and if e can do anything to help them let's do it.

Yes, we were in college and study abroad together. He's spent a lot of time abroad fighting for basic human rights and while we knew it could be dangerous we never saw this coming. I'm scared shitless and we don't know what's going on or if he's ok.

He will most likely be okay then.

I mean yeah his stay in the prison will suck but they will work pretty hard to get him back

Attributing his fashion choices to conscious thought is a damning accusation.
