Sorry for missing the game, y'all. It wasn't intentional.

Our internet cut off for some reason on Friday and has yet to make its triumphant return. So I'm writing this at the uni, on Sunday. No one should ever need to be at school on sunday. It is a terrible thing.

    *waves at people*

Aegeri mentioned a spot was free and I'm middling about with a Kalashtar Battlemind thought, once I get up to speed with the campaign background and the like.

My net is now alright again. I should be available this weekend.

Aegeri and Aegis. That won't be confusing at all.

Welcome to the group, Aegis. I will attempt to remain unbiased against you even though you appear to play Terran and I favor the Toss.

I do! Or I did, when I played SC2. Online match play just was incredibly stressful personally so I put it down at the end of the summer and haven't touched it. Should see if it'd be any better lately.

That was a hilarious end encounter there.

And damnit, I was just starting to like Marhu.

Technically the one who caused the deaths of both those characters was me, since
    1. The Shade Form actually hurt me rather than saved me.
2.I could have sent Marhu away from the action when I got control of him briefly. Then again, would Marhu run? Would he, really?

I'm gonna see what kind of new character I can think up before wednesday.

I swore for a while it was me knocking him prone that hurt Walker quite a bit too.

Then I remembered, before that on my turn I had pulled him with the power that prevents him from moving to squares not adjacent from me. So that spider wasn't going anywhere anyway :(

When you lose by literally 1 hp, while the "boss" had 1 hp, pretty much anything could have changed it. Here's some examples:

    1. Aegeri's monster rolling 1 under for damage.
    2. Anyone rolling 1 higher for damage
    3. Someone using one of Marhu's Flaming Weapon Daily, Bless Weapon Daily, or Divine Strength encounter, increasing damage for one attack.
    4. Using Lay on Hands for exactly one more healing surge.
    5. Aegeri having happened to decide that Hobgoblin racial ability did any healing(for the record aegeri, did i use that power once? with the new monster design its kind of completely useless so far. and as far as i'll ever go i guess!)
    6. MARHU NEEDS TO EXPLODE

im not evne getting into more twiddly things, like using divine mettle to theoretically remove some effect from an ally or marhu or things like retreats. there's not any really anything you can particularly blame for this, really.

    I'll give it to Marhu.

Midway through the encounter I hit that spider for 30 radiant damage with a non-crit Halo daily. Damn guy was a beast.

The best part is he still would have done 10 more had he crit. I imagine a big reason why he died was that he was so efficient at damage that, even when the spider was marked by someone else, and he had some of the best defenses in the party (except reflex which aegeri I also noticed Aegeri loved to target that encounter), he was still a primary target of the spider.

You're like a brother to me

But the reason Aegeri targetted him was because Aegeri was looking for a way to kill Marhu off

Seriously dude, just look at the front page of the thread.

Hey guys, so I'm leaving town Saturday before this game starts, so I won't be there this weekend. Also, my sister's wedding is approaching (mid-April) and I'm a groomsman, so as that date approacheth I will probably grow more occupied. I will attempt to keep you guys apprised if I'm going to be absent, but until the wedding's over, don't be afraid to start without me.

For the most part Aegeri, this shouldn't affect my presence at your other game.

    I don't have a CB anymore.

I'll have to look up some feats and such and PM you the changes or something. Uhh

stat bonuses to WIS and INT

that's about all I know off the top of my head.

Oh wait you mean a token don't you. I'll see what I can do. At the very least I'll make a LEVELUP macro for him like the one I've got for Initiate, which should handle most of the maths.

Oh I have a list. It includes but is far from limited to a grapple gun. It will be a mundane item that solves problems like the rocky stream from last weekend.

    Try and stop me Aegeri.

Well... squinter was good at roasting minions. Can't take that away from him... Oh cruel world!

I had such high hopes for the summoner build.. But I knew surviving to level 6 or so would be tough.

And fuck that dretch shit. That thing sucked. An intrinsic nature that deals damage to me like that when I have so few hit points to go around is just the suck. I thought that IF I had a decent amount of HP in a fight where using a daily would be justified I could use the zombie and my slide abilities to stay out of harms way and do some halfway decent ranged damage. But.. no... the dretch was mostly useless even in favorable conditions. Oh well. Live and learn. Or die and learn. Whichever.

So we should leave the magic items alone for now or are we allowed to purchase some with the starting gold?

Also are you still house ruling in the free expertise feat?

Ya I think so. That CA aura is pretty sweet but I feel like Summer is more what I'm looking for in terms of survivability. I feel like the +2 to all defenses will pay off in the long term while the CA could end up feeling a little redundant with two other melee strikers. Most of my spells are AoE with some actually good options. Between the AoE, Staff fighting, and the pet his DPR shouldn't be too shabby and and I can toss out a bit of healing on top of it. The summons I have access to are way better than the wizard's options as well.

Hopefully it should be a viable and fun build.

One thing I'm curious about is whether or not I'll be able to use tending strike as a two weapon attack?

Well I've grabbed staff fighting and two weapon fighting (defs coming next). So my MBA is actually two attacks at 1d12 each.

Now if I use a tending strike do I roll two attacks there or not. I'm feeling that's a no?

    So Squinter got spider'd too?

Okay Aegeri, this is an intervention. You're making the battles too difficult.

It's not that he's making battle too difficult, its just that without Marhu EVERYTHING seems too difficult. That said without a Marhu he probably should adjust it down, you just can't make the same assumptions if he's not there.
