One-Unit-Per-City is a good idea. Never again do I have to watch 5 minutes of superstacks attacking a city with 5 dudes in it.
Edit: This is by far the best complaint: "Civ5 inserts tactical combat into a strategy game!"
Please tell me you made that complaint up. I'm begging you.
Personally I'm looking forward to trying the new system. I like tactical combat, and most of the changes they've described sound appealing to me.
Having said that, I don't think complaints about the more in-depth combat are automatically illegitimate: some players would rather not focus on combat, or might prefer simplified, high-level strategic combat over an in-depth system. Just because you like it more doesn't make it better for everyone.

Is this like Civ 3, where you can play a single match for hours and hours on end, and still not finish, or is it more like Civ 4, which I hear plays much faster?
Civ IV still took hours and hours. fun though.
I'm really interested in how the battles are going to be now.

Or just as long as it takes for you to get a game done in one straight sitting.
Guess I'll wait some time and get it once the add-ons have arrived...

civ is very much its own beast
Also, I will be getting this game whenever I get my 20 dollar credit on amazon.
considering AoE is real time strategy and Civ is turn based, not that similar
smaller guy got his butt kicked by a napoleon ai set on immortal
neato
i tried the demo of the xbox one but the control scheme was unwieldy and confusing. i might pick this up some time.
The xbox one was barely civ anyway
