They probably should just make a completely different game and come back to DNF some time later. Actually getting something made would probably be good for them, even if it doesn't have anything to do with what they've been working on.

So, should I consider getting DN3D?

YES. It's one of my favorite shooters of all time.
I need to find a hobby that doesn't cost me so much god-damn money.
You can get Duke3D for like a dollar.
Hmm...where can I find it for this low price?
Isn't it like free online now? I mean I have a PC-Gamer disk with 12 classic games on it including Duke Nukem 1-3D.

That is possible. However, it doesn't mean it is free. I know the CD had King's Quest and Descent but that doesn't mean they are now free except for those lucky people with the CD.

In three years, when this fucker still isn't out, it's going to be another classic.

That is god damned funny! I would really hate to be George B. right now. If this isn't the greatest shooter ever when it's eventually released, people are going to get the pitchforks and torches out.

Which is why it won't come out until 5 years from now.

I'm saving every single DNF shot I can find now. Why? I'm going to send a picture montage to George Brussard if DNF is ever released, I;m gonna send a picture montage of the development of the game to him. I suggest everyone do the same(make sure to send the OH SNAP SiN pic in it)

I really hope that 3DRealms uses everything that they've bought/licensed/been rumored to have licensed/previously created then scrapped/etc. during the ten years that DNF's been in development. This game should have four or five different game engines, two or three different physics engines, and...Iunno, as many different graphics/audio/gameplay styles/innovations as have been linked to the game during its development cycle.

I'm not saying that a game that literally encompassed gaming development across a 10-year span would be good or anything, but this thing seriously needs something that self-referential and tongue-in-cheek in there somewhere.

THe game should look better as you play.

Like the first stage looks like what it did back in 98.

and the 3rd stage looks a little better.

By the end of the game it looks like Crysis.

I bet you it's going to be like the research paper I had due friday before last. They had ample time to work on it, promised multiple release dates, each one after the initial projected one, but it'll never come out. Just more promises until they get quieter and quieter and it dissappears.

I really should have worked on that paper.

Anyone who hasn't seen the '01 (or was it '02?) trailer really ought to do so now.

It's fantastic, and likely among the reasons some people still give a shit about this game.

Would anyone else be interested in a DN3D Game-on? I can make a thread but if no one's interested, I won't waste the time.
