Apparently you can sign up for the Dashboard update preview here:

I signed up. Got accepted immediately for some reason. Maybe I spend too much on DLC?

* We’re looking for multiple thousands of participants, so your chances of making it in are good.
* This is not for Kinect. You will not be receiving a Kinect sensor if you are chosen to participate.
* This opportunity is open to all Xbox LIVE Members in regions where Xbox LIVE is available.
* To avoid any problems, read the survey carefully and double check all the information your provide.
* While both Xbox LIVE Gold and Silver members can sign up, Priority will be given to Gold members in the selection process.

...which will give users an early look at new features that are coming to the Xbox Live portal. The beta provides access to ESPN content, Zune music and Netflix search. Users will also be able to preview the revamped dashboard and Zune video feature.

    Keep in mind that you won't be able to party chat with people on your friends list if they aren't also in the preview.

    Yeah, i was totally in like flint on this but read that i couldnt party chat..... i can't imagine playing REACH and being forced to listen to the general population.

    Needless to say, I'm going to pass.

    Oh... Yeah it takes MONTHS to get something certified enough to be put through the XBOX 360. Though I guess it's good that they are extra careful, but it's ridiculous.

    I tried to sign up, but I got into an infinite loop where it would

    1. ask me for my name, email, country, and if I wanted to sign up for newsletter updates
    2. ask me for a display name
    3. make me click a box labeled "continue"
    4. Goto 1.

    I would like for the NXE to grow and adapt based on games that Gamertag plays often. Maybe even a questionnaire I can do on Xbox.com or something.

    The other day when my 360 started up and it threw up the Spotlight section, I counted

    Seven Halo: Reach ads

    I don't give a shit about Reach. Like at all. I know they want to use advertising space, and that's fine, but they'd be better served using that space to advertise things I'm actually likely to buy, like Dead Rising 2, Castlevania, Rock Band 3, DJ Hero 2, etc.

    ESPN3.com is Disney's online sports network that broadcasts a growing array of live sports event over the Web. Notably, Time Warner broadband customers will now be able to get ESPN3 content on their Xbox 360 game consoles when that service goes live in the next several months (assuming you also have an Xbox 360).

    I signed up so thanks for the heads up op. I always get giddy when my tech gets an aesthetic overhaul. Sucks about the party chat but its understandable, maybe they've updated the system in such a manner that it is to awesome to be compatible with the old party chat :P
