Guys, it's going to be a freaking amazing new year for indie/indie cred music. Here's a partial list:

I'm totally digging the new Menomena. It's an amazing balance between avante-guarde rock and sweet pop. Unlike a lot of bands, they don't do pop songs and then avante guard ones, but they mix them together in every song. Good good stuff.
So discuss upcoming stuff and the albums once they're released.
I'll edit this post when either new albums or release dates come to light.

LCD Soundsystem sucks. So does Clap Your Hands Say Yeah.
Modest Mouse doesn't qualify as indie anymore.
That is all.
the "no true scotch man" fallacy.
I know, but that's why I said creds.
Speaking of creds
we can reasonably expect
NEW RADIOHEAD
I'm considering picking up some of his stuff.
I'm also apprehensive about the new CYHSY because the early reviews have not been good.
Oh god you have no idea how much I want this to be out already.
And of course, that new Eno/Coldplay record has me ascared.
Also, the new Islands songs I heard at their concert in Nov. rocked fucking HARD. I think it will be even better, which is a hard task.
Also, the OP is missing the new Do Make Say Think album (Feb 27). The new Jesu album (Feb 20) as well, but that's straying a bit from what people usually think when they say "indie". Also, the new Eluvium album (Feb).
Overall, a good year for music, I expect.
My birthday.
Fuck yeah. A band that I fucking love releasing a album on my birthday.
DMST
Of Montreal
The Shins
I thought the Beirut EP came out last year?
Also new Shins came out this week and they are awesome, although I haven't heard this new one yet.
Yeah, it's weird. I think it came out on vinyl or something, but I can't find the EP in any stores. Maybe it's a limited press or something.
Bloc Party
Wolf Eyes
Hella (January 30)
!!! (March 6)
El-P (March 6)
Air (March 6)
Ted Leo (March 20)
Kaiser Chiefs (March 27)
Maximo Park (April 3)
Blonde Redhead (April 10)
Dinosaur Jr. (May 1)
Wilco (May 15)
Sage Francis (sometime in May)
Bjork (late spring)
Architecture in Helsinki (sometime in spring)
The Cure (sometime in May)
Dntel (sometime in April)
Elbow (sometime in spring)
Duran Duran (sometime in May)
Feist (sometime in spring)
Hot Hot Heat (sometime in spring)
Les Savy Fav (sometime in March)
Magnetic Fields (sometime in spring)
NIN (sometime in April)
Rilo Kiley (sometime in spring)
The Smashing Pumpkins (sometime in May)
Spoon (sometime in spring)
Travis (sometime in spring)
Rufus Wainwright (sometime in May)
Podly, you cannot falter like this.
added is in red
Smashing Pumpkins comes out that early? I though it was much later.
Can't believe I forgot about Les Savy Fav. Craziest fucking concert I've ever been to. I just hope their new albums is a little different.
!!! is gonna be so awesome. I can just tell.
I wonder if they will be even more childish, a la "It's 5" or a little more ironic, as in the change in "Wishbone"
Honestly, I don't know. I'm just going by Metacritic's release calendar, which could be completely wrong.
What's wrong with Bjork? She's totally awesome in every way.
oops, I had no idea Bjork had a new album coming out and I read over it! Freaking awesome!
when's sigur ros coming out with new junk?
also, fuck bjork.
also, air is awesome.
Does Ambulette count? Because Maura said they were recording something new for this year, I believe.
It's supposed to be an album about life in the city, and I think it reflects that, as a whole. I'm in love with it, I can't stop listening to it.
I love music in this order:
1. Radiohead. Nothing is fucking better than Radiohead.
2. The Magnetic Fields and Sigur Ros. Fucking amazing, both of them.
3. Everything else.
The Magnetic Fields, IMHO, have the best lyrics of any group I have ever heard. They're cute and poignant like Belle & Sebastian, but fed through the brilliant mind of Stephin Merritt. Untouchable lyrics.
Half of LCD rocks, half sucks. Problem is, I've overlistened to all of it, and all of the songs are WAY TOO GODDAMN LONG (Yr City's a Sucker) and now I hate most of it
Question, I recently discovered that there were a bunch of extra-tracks from The Decemberists - The Crane Wife that were released on the different versions of the CD, plus iTunes. Are they good?
There are a few songs which I find catchy and listenable, but they don't rock my world. I don't understand why they're loved so much. Even their good songs consist of, at best, a few canned techno beats, synthesizer noises, and meaningless lyrics. It's like 20 years of progress in electronic music was just totally ignored by a DJ who really should know better. No, James Murphy! Bad James Murphy! No piddling on the drum machine!
the "no true scotch man" fallacy.
I am not exaggerating.
A lot of people hated the first track of their debut, too.
I loved it, but then I am a weird guy.
Wikipedia lists two of them as "Starbucks bonus tracks". I don't even want to know what that means.
I'd like to hear "After the Bombs" though. Sounds like it might be similar to Sons and Daughters, which was my favorite song on The Crane Wife.
So did I. Hard to listen to, but still possessed of a certain quirky charm.
This track is a half-decent song with a great big mound of shit on top. They committed atrocities to the bass that could normally be achieved by dunking a pair of headphones into a fish tank, waiting a month and then using them to hear the song while STILL IN the fish tank.
Good thing the following two tracks are the best on the album.
Huzzah for Sigur Ros and Radiohead.
Speaking of Arcade Fire and Decemberists, perhaps they'll be playing some of their new stuff at Coachella? Anybody else see the lineup this year? It's pretty good. I've got a ticket to Saturday already.
Of course, that means it will probably be out in like 2012 :P
New Shins - total agreement. I had the new My Chemical Romance and the new Shins album queued up in a playlist, having heard none of either, last weekend and was surprised to find I enjoyed the new MCR better. It's not that Wincing The Night Away isn't good...it just doesn't grab me, or hasn't yet anyway.
I havn't gotten a chance to pick up the new Clap Your Hands Say Yeah! yet, but what I've heard has been pretty solid. This goes for The Shins too: I really liked Sleeping Lessons and Turn On Me, but the rest has been pretty meh for me so far; maybe it'll grow on me.
I completely forgot Arcade Fire and Sigur Ros were coming out with new stuff. I think I heard one of the new Arcade Fire songs on the radio and it was pretty good, but I'm mostly excited for Sigur Ros. I'm probably not as excited about Radiohead as I should be, even if I'm not a huge fan of them, but I'm sure I'll get excited when the time comes. Also, if any of you havn't heard of the Shout Out Louds I highly suggest you check them out. If you have, I think their new album should be coming out soon as well; they've been in-studio for awhile.
And one final question: New Ben Folds anyone? I'm fairly certain he started new stuff in the fall, so a new record could be possible by mid-to-late this year? I'm not sure if he is classified as indie but if any of you have any info I have not come across it would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. Oh christ yes new Dinosaur Jr.
Edit: I almost forgot to mention Little Brazil, a little unknown that just came out with an album I think you should all check out. Their MySpace should give you a general idea of what they play. Good stuff.
edit: Actually I have a video of Hold Music from one of the shows I went to. Check it out:

Ummmm, indie is more a sound than it is the terminology of "omg, no one knows about the band I listen to because I'm an elitist prick."
MM still counts no matter how elitist you want to be.
I'd imagine they will
my friends all wanted to go when they saw Rage is playing, but they didn't get tickets.
I'd be more excited about the bands you listed, personally.
