The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
Darren Aronofsky's deal to direct 20th Century Fox's X-Men Origins: Wolverine 2 is close enough that discussion has turned to shooting the sound stage portions of the film in New York so the filmmaker and Hugh Jackman don't have to inconvenience their families. A March start date is being eyed so that Aronofsky has time to open Black Swan and be available for the inevitable awards season obligations. When the New York scenes are completed, they'll head to Japan to shoot the bulk of the Christopher McQuarrie-scripted movie. Deadline told you last week that Aronofsky had set his sights on Wolverine after passing on the Warner Bros period crime drama Gangster Squad.
Okay, so now that we have that out of the way, what the fuck? Aronofsky making a studio film? And with Fox, a studio well known for fucking with the creative aspects of their films? Besides having a script by the guy who wrote The Usual Suspects, this was pretty much the only way they could've gotten me interested in another Wolverine movie after how terrible the first one was.
I mean, are we going to get a Wolverine movie that looks like this?
I mean, it's certainly got me interested, but when I woke up this morning, hearing about an Aronofsky directed Wolverine movie was, well, maybe not the very last thing I expected, but it was pretty low on the list.
Ryan Reynolds was a great choice for Deadpool, it was just executed in the worst way possible.
Like, if there were really a multiverse full of potential outcomes for that movie, the way they wrote deadpool is the measure for how bad things could have gone.

I wish it could have been set in the DCAU like they originally wanted but yeah. Probably my second favorite of the animated flicks. tied with New Frontier.

Man, he wasn't the guy that wrote Deadpool into being a super-silent-saiyan with sword arms and beam eyes.
All I want is a 5-10 minute battle between those two dudes.
But then again, Deadpool himself would have probably picked Ryan Reynolds because that would be the Deadpool thing to do.
deadpool has described himself multiple times as looking like ryan reynolds before his cancer
also you're an idiot
Woah, hey now. Let's not get crazy here.
I actually kinda liked that movie. I mean it's certainly not on par with the first or second X-Men movies but it's not as bad as X3 either.
And it is worlds better than the wast majority of Wolverine comics.
He is fantastic in every way.
you really ought to quit huffing paint, dude
x1
i watched that again really recently
it's so bad

not by much though
I am definitely not blaming him
but if I were in his situation, I feel like I would want to apologize
"Hey guys, I'm sorry I'm making so much money off of suffering you put yourself through voluntarily."

Jesus that was the worst part.
I've always tried to avoid having a nerd rage but that.......man it made me angry.
But that movie was still a turd.

It doesn't matter.
so good
also what animated movie is that
Also it kinda ties in, from rebuilding the watchtower and recruiting the 3rd season team
Also hi 5 I love new frontier. The old costumes look so cool, especially superman and batman
ryan reynolds as deadpool with green lantern ring vs james woods apathetic owlman
That's a stove.
and a microwave.
I'm tired.
