    Front page of Youtube for me just has my Recommended for You and Subscriptions segments within view. Nothing about it in there.

    The Hobbit movie will be good, of this I am fairly confident. The other one they want to make that bridges the gap between The Hobbit and the Fellowship of the Ring...not so much. Unless the entire thing is taking on the Witch-king in Mirkwood.

    I remember seeing a pretty awesome version of The Hobbit put on with puppets once. Like, really elaborate puppets, where there are multiple dudes working the bigger monsters and the spider scene was done in blacklight so all you could see were the webs and the spider, and then whenever Bilbo took the ring off he'd appear for a moment...

    Yeah, it was awesome.

    Don't read the songs.

    If you're finding everything too slow, don't read the songs. You're already up against Tolkien's need to describe everything in such minute detail that your eyes bleed (it's a good thing in The Hobbit, less in the others).


    Also, I get why there was the director switch. This thing just dragged on for some damn long that he had other shit to do. No fault of his own, but thank god it's at least going to get made.

    A well done movie could be awesome, but I'm not sure who I'd trust to do anything but fuck it up, especially if it required keeping Butcher on a short leash.

    Also, I enjoyed the Hobbit when I read it as a kid. Looking forward to these films.
