Wow. 83% of people changed Shepard's face. I can't do that, anything but the default doen't match the voice for me.

interestingly, this only applies to male shepards for me

female shepards I customise the hell out of

and it's the opposite for me, i find pretty much any malesheps i can make will generally fit the voice, but femsheps need a very good custom face to be convincing with hale's VA

Screw the Elusive Man. If anybody is going to be riding high on an intergalactic throne, it's going to be me. I'll keep a couple of Reapers alive specifically just to haul over to the Citadel and be like "Ah yes, 'Reapers' bitches!" Then I'll kill them both and hollow one out to serve as my interstellar babe cruiser/death fortress. Then the only thing it'll drive crazy is all the hot green space women.

And I won't need any cursed, booby-trapped ship to do it all.

    Getting a bit Krull there

"With this biotic amp I do rule!"

Would be so funny to hear the reaction to that idea from say Tali or Liara. Especially LotSB Liara. I was pleased with that, the writing for that character got better.

That was something I enjoyed about Mass Effect 2. Yes, in many respects the plot did go sideways. Mostly because the plot is simple. The entire Mass Effect storyline is "Space Marine finds out about horrible machines about to destroy all life in the galaxy. Kicks their ass." Mass Effect 2 is more about expanding the setting and the characters then progressing the storyline. We learn more about the Geth, Quarians, (and appear to have the possibility to recruit both of them to fight the reapers, though that is more wild speculation on my part). And we get better characterization.

The returning characters are better written. Garrus is improved over what he used to be, as is Tali. And Liara is LotSB is a vast improvement over Liara in Mass Effect 1.

I think "threat" is too much of a compliment to them. It assumes that Shepard does something other than crushing them under the heel of his boot.

They're more like a plague or disease of sorts. Like the common cold.
