I submit to you that there are many wonderful things to be [chat]ed. Immigration. LoLs.

The Lamentations.

Whatever I'm doing... probably isn't one of those great things. But here you have it, and forgive a [chat]-starting Noob.

Arnold is a badass, but here are some more badasses for you:

Also, Fro, could your care qualification be described as a nursing qualification? They qualify for fast-track visas.

Also I spent a shift just reading about Robert Howard on wiki and God damn that's a shame. He seemed like a pretty awesome guy overall.

that game would have been much better if about half the companions (and thus half of act I) had been cut

Grobnar and Casavir alone contribute pretty much nothing except for Casavir's romance which itself was mostly cut

Did you play the 2nd expansion? (Zehir) That fixed the game right up by just having you create your own damn party of 4 and cutting out the poorly written annoying tagalongs.

That's how Howard's stories have him too - strong, but lithe and agile. The bulk kind of comes with the Ahnuld territory.

Yeah. I never had an interest in the character until a few months ago when I looked him up on wiki.

The 80s ruined so many things.

I read a Conan book a while back, by Howard, that described his fists as being like 'giant anvils.' Plus, the Frazetta paintings make him look p hueg.

@Japan: I don't think so. Plus, my certs are all pretty wicked-expired. My CPR cert might still be valid, but that'd be it.

Not Howard's fault Frazetta messed up.

Also, Howard was probably just implying that Conan's penis is also huge. Obviously.

I did not, because I like companions, when they're done well, which some of the OC's were. Khelgar and Neeshka were fun, Ammon and Shandra were interesting, though some more character development for Neeshka, and the restoration of her romance, would have been good. Mask has great sidekicks.

I think when I get an e-book I will download some. Are they in public domain?

The name Conan and the names of Robert E. Howard's other principal characters are claimed as trademarked by Paradox Entertainment of Stockholm, Sweden, through its US subsidiary Paradox Entertainment Inc. Paradox copyrights stories written by other authors under license from Conan Properties Inc.

However, since Robert E. Howard published his Conan stories at a time when the date of publication was the marker (1932 through 1963), and any new owners failed to renew them to maintain the copyrights,[26] the exact copyright status of all of Howard's Conan works are in question.[27]

The Australian site of Project Gutenberg has many Robert E. Howard stories, including several Conan stories.[28] This indicates that, in their opinion, the stories are free from copyright and may be used by anyone, at least under Australian law, which was 50 years from author's death until 2005. Subsequent stories written by other authors are subject to the copyright laws of the relevant time.

In the United Kingdom, 70 years after the death of an author his works fall into the public domain and as such the works of Robert E. Howard have now fallen into the public domain there.

Heh, Paradox bought it for their Conan MMO. Which failed.

The Conan books? No. And, to make matters worse, there are Conan novels and compilations done by about a billion different people, all fucking things up pretty bad.

Turns out, a lot of the Dark Horse comics are pretty rad.

    Republicans.
One hundred members of Congress (so far) have cosponsored a bill introduced by far right Congressman Joe Pitts (R-PA) called the "Protect Life Act." (See if yours is one of them below.)

They want to "protect life" so much that they have written into the bill a new amendment that would override the requirement that emergency room doctors save every patient, regardless of status or ability to pay. The law would carve out an exception for pregnant women; doctors and hospitals will be allowed to let pregnant women die if interventions to save them will kill the fetus.

It's fine if it's up to her. I'm even okay with it, in general, if she's incapacitated and her SO makes the decision.

To make it the default though is horrible.

If it's up to her, sure. I couldn't imagine letting anyone else choose for her, though, unless they've got it signed and notarized that yes, she is indeed ready and willing to die for that baby.

Making it the default is basically the worst thing.
